Today I'm... amped up!

One of my favorite things that my friend came up with is an entire Ork tribe that present themselves as female (despite Orks having no gender) because they've fought nothing but Sisters of Battle for generations. After fighting them for such a long time, the Orks decided that they were ded 'ard compared to just about any other 'humie and so try to emulate them in dress (boob plate and all) and combat style in order to imitate/surpass their strength.

It's plausible. In AoS, Lizardmen pretty much exist to fight Chaos (Khorne specifically) and this pisses the Orcs off to no end, because when the orcs try to fight them, the lizards fall back, rather than waste their energy on a fight they don't want. The Orcs got the bright idea of fashioning and painting their armor to look like Chaos Warriors in order to trick the Lizardmen into fighting them.

There's an old story from an archived 40k thread about some Goons playing 40k at a table in a FLGS, and in came a guy with his wife and little kids. Said guy was either checking to see if his pro painted stuff had sold, or if his recently nerfed stuff put into the second hand cabinet for resale at less than half the price had sold. Little girl asked if they would get to have juice this week, and he said no, and sunk all the money plus what was in his pocket into buying the next stack of full price flavour of the month Geedubs plastics.

It's a parable for how terrible the people who play 40k are, and for how terrible the company that makes 40k is.

Targh was the OP I think.

It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries The Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die. :scrunt:

Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants - and worse.

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

UNTIL NOW!

What's new in 8th edition?

The big bois!

:scrunt:

But no really

This is the big boi, the large marine, the Ultra Ultramarine, the bigliest of bigly's, the Primaris Marine!
:scrunt::scrunt:
Probably one of the biggest changes to 8th edition is that the 40k fiction is finally being moved forward, and brand new and improved true scale space marines are center show of this brave new GW world.

Wait what? They look the same...

No! One is newer and larger and comes with brand new fluff involving the returned Primark Girlyman!!

The idea of creating new Space Marines using a new process is seen in the fluff furthest back in Deliverance Lost by Gav Thorpe.

Deliverance Lost is a Horus Heresy novel focusing on Corax, Primarch of the Ravenguard, and his quest to restore his legion after the disastrous events of Istvan IV. Corax and a small remnant of his Legion travel to Terra, in a psychic audience with his father Corax is given the knowledge required to find the locked away remnants of the Primarch Project. Actually GW are cool and good now.

Well they would be a lot cooler if they sold Vespids in bulk now that they're actually useful instead of just something you brought for fun.

I think they just sort of forgot about them after they were introduced and mostly copy-pasted their entries in books and catalogs between editions.

I mean that would explain why you would ever buy them before now. Honest mistakes.

But 9 bucks a model is asking a bit much.
