I'd have thought Shadow of the Tomb Raider was going to have beefy 4K assets on Bonx like its preceding Rise, but the entire game is smaller than just RoTTR's 4K update patch.

Yeah, it's clearly optimized for the High Framerate mode (and it's actually super good and a stable 60 fps). The High Resolution mode is entirely pointless as it is IMO; can't keep a stable 30 fps, noticeable input lag, and there's no specific "4K assets" as far as I can see. There's no "Enriched mode" like in Rise.

Forza horizon 4 on performance mode is amazing! Locked 60fps and makes the game feel so much more fluid. I think devs should all put this much work into the performance modes being a stable 60.

There's no "Enriched mode" like in Rise. Playing on PC here but I've definitely noticed that Shadow is extremely taxing on higher resolutions, even moreso than what you'd expect. I went from struggling to maintain 40fps average at 1440p on High with some settings knocked down even further on a 980ti, to literally double those framerates at 1080p with Ultra everything. Fortunately their TAA and texture filtering are a lot better than Rise's fuzzy FXAA implementation, so you don't notice too much of a drop in visual fidelity going to 1080p.

When the actual horizon drops on pc it will crash constantly because turn10s favorite thing for the last two years has been releasing a stable good demo and then not giving a poo poo about qa for the full release

Frankly I might never buy another forza game considering forza 7 is still unfixed. I’ve heard this one has just as much unskippable annoying narration too which we have even rebuking for the last two horizons

my dad, my friends and i all spent a hell of a lot of time in the stunt track in rush 2. it fuckin ruled. and then rush 2049 had 4 stunt tracks and your cars had fuckin wings so you could control your stunts. and then midway made la rush

San Fran Rush was sick as hell but I think other games carried the torch. Burnout especially seems to fill the niche. I would love a modernised Rush game though, no question. as long as its not Open world and sticks to its original formula. EDIT: Forza Horizon is cool but I wish you could disable the Narrative poo poo. it took me 30min to get through 3 races because it keeps explaining to me that I need to go to places on the map to start events. its really fuckin tedious.
