There were a bunch of other titles with exclusive commentary tracks that never made it to DVD or whatever. Well once you put something in the library it's gonna be a hassle to remove it tbh. My GCU expires at the end of this month I still don't think I'll go digital for new releases ,as I always resell my games when I'm done with them.

Crysis 3 is a hungry as gently caress game, it's one of those titles that's basically impossible to hit even 1080p60 locked with max settings on a PC, or at least that was the case a year or two ago, might be able to finally do it with a 1080Ti or 2080Ti.

Looks pretty good, and the uncapped framerate should allow for a notable fps improvement on X!

I am still legitimately surprised we haven't seen any Crysis remasters this gen. Or at least official re-releases since we now have consoles that can better match the hardware those games were built for. I guess BC is the closest we'll get for now.

I know people probably don't care about the Need for Speed series becoming BC but ever since that leak years ago I've been waiting for Hot Pursuit 2010 to become BC because it was basically a Burnout game and EA never ported the DLC to PC. Would be cool if they made Burnout 3 BC as well but EA seems to hate being reminded that they let good IPs die.

physical games are cheaper here if you buy them in the first day or two. I normally just get MP games on disc because its the best deal you'll get during the peak period to play the game. SP games I just wait til they are dirt cheap on sale. I got DOOM and Wolfenstein II for $20 total off the xbox store a few months ago. I dont think either is worth $70, but $10 each made them fantastic purchases I definitely got my moneys worth out of.

Sadly, EA's expired Porsche license alone will keep both Most Wanteds off BC. A 360 is still a good console to have.

Basically the only physical games I buy anymore are when I pass a Redbox and wonder if there's anything I'd kinda want fro their "buy the games we don't want to rent out anymore" option. I think the last game I bought for a current console new was GTA V for the 360 back at launch.

Thanks, gamepass, for giving me a third "Id never buy this" ultra saturated, low texture, art game in innerspace. It may be meandering art trash but it has the single greatest button included in a flight game since Independence War, a drift button. This past e3 they only price matched Walmart sales. So I can see them colluding and deciding no e3 sales from now on. I ended up getting AC Odyssey from Walmart and they didn't even start shipping until three days after release, then it took a week to get to the west coast, with no tracking. I bought digital instead and finished the game before the physical version arrived.

You know for all the issues the Xbox one has, I do have to say, the way they have backwards compatability running is among the best I have ever seen in decades of gaming. I hope they can keep it up and that Playstation should learn from it too.

Ineffiable posted:You know for all the issues the Xbox one has, I do have to say, the way they have backwards compatability running is among the best I have ever seen in decades of gaming. This is an odd statement, the only system it's better than is the PS4. Systems with 100% (or almost, 99% definitely) backwards compatibility with the preceding generation include the PS2, PS3 (at least for PS1 games, although the CECHA launch units also fully did PS2), Wii (for Gamecube), Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. The Xbox One has done a good job at picking the 360 games to make backwards compatible, but it's not even at 25% of its library yet being compatible, and due to legal fuckery it's a certainty certain major titles will never be playable on it.

This generation in the first time full BC hasn't been the bare minimum. PS3 was a mess of a console and interrupted that but everything has always had BC.

The SNES and PSX generations didn't have any BC at all, and the PS2 was the only console of its generation that had it. It's always been fluid, there's no "normal" when it comes to BC. IMO the reason why it's such a big win for MS this time around is the fact that last gen games hold up exceptionally well this time around.

From 2000 onwards, this is the first generation any of the consoles weren't fully compatible with at least the generation preceding it. I guess you could lump the Vita in there as well due to no UMD drive, although a Vita is as capable as a PSP Go so there's that.

Yeah it holds up so well that they remastered 85% of the games still worth playing in the first two years and now people are fake happy about the abandoned valve games or the crysis games they poo poo on at release.
