I’ll happily impact struts apart (poo poo I’ve done it with hand tools) but garage springs scare me senseless. Probably one of the more dangerous things in a home, now that I think about it.

We have a giant switch controlling the compressor and make sure to turn it off when we leave the shop.

Ah gotcha. We have a drain valve on a timer, it dumps every few weeks. I forget the details handy sadly.

I have a similar space but the roof is insulated, that makes a huge difference and is where I’d start.

My place’s paper insulation has kinda gone to poo poo over the last 15-20 years but still holding up ok.
