I spent 5 tickets, and I walked away with Astolfo. The only servant of the three I didn't want. I guess I have to wait for friend summons to get kid Gil.

Not to be one to invite other forum drama normally but holy hell /r/grandorder is tearing itself apart thanks to the mods even suggesting that hey maybe it might be beneficial to have comics/fluff/porn in a separate megathread or subreddit rather than outpacing all other conversations about this dumb game by a crazy ratio on that board. Not that I even care, because it's easy enough to set up subreddit flair filters to get rid of that garbage, but there are no fewer than at least 15 different highly upvoted threads ranting and raving about it. Oh my god who caaaaaaares

Don't they already filter that stuff? It seems kinda weird to separate things further into a splinter subreddit when it's still the same game. Are there people really just chomping at the bit to have gameplay discussions and failing to get upvotes and attention because of comics and poo poo or something?

Reddit filters are kind of rubbish; they don't work on mobile, they don't work with aggregators and they don't affect the pagination so it's easy to get into a situation where the first three pages of threads are all blank because they've all been filtered. It's better than nothing but it's not really a solution to their problems: They've basically got two communities in the same subreddit both trying to persuade themselves the other doesn't exist. To their credit the smaller of those two communities isn't totally awful.

This game is not exactly rocket science. The primary complaint is that the mod's reasons are so that you can have "serious gameplay discussion". But let's be honest here, there's not much serious discussion to be had about the game's mechanics. The argument is that once the comics and fluff gets relegated to megathreads, you have a dead subreddit. I only go there for the Gramps and Mama Jalter comics, so I don't want to be arsed to dig through a lovely megathread to get my daily/weekly fix. Also, there was apparently about complaints about event guides being buried by the fluff, whereas I'm on the other end and didn't really need to see 5 KNK Visual event guides all rehashing the same thing. Dunno why they don't just have a wiki like r/puzzleanddragons to store event guides and crap. If the mod team doesn't want to do the content, just delegate. Edit: If people need specific help with a particular quest, a megathread like how r/FireEmblemHeroes for Grand Hero Battles, would be more useful than individual topics asking for team composition help. I guess it just doesn't bother me as much that things get quieter in between major events or story beats or whatever, that just means there's less to talk about for a spell. Rather than a megathread, if there was an occasionally dead FGO gameplay/event/announcement subreddit and a much more active fluff/comic sub, wouldn't that accomplish both goals? I primarily go there to grab the occasional event guide and (probably more important) to see PSAs that I otherwise would have missed. For example I only learned about the super nasty CE disappearing bug in December from a few posts there and was really glad it got some attention. Or knowing that apparently Amakusa's attacks are bugged at the moment, that's something that might not be obvious from just reading cirno/a wiki and would necessitate some kind of gameplay discussion point. Though to be fair, I get most of what I need from this thread's discord so even that's kind of whatever at this point. Just keeping the status quo there is fine by me (and I guess preferred if people are going to get that upset), it's just the fervor with which it all went down that was sort of amusing.

I don't think he's bugged? I think the JP version just has a later buff to increase his hit count that NA doesn't have. The pre-buff JP behavior where his hit count was different for different animations probably was a bug, but I don't think NA has that.

There's both /r/fgocomics and /r/fgofanart (I may've misremembered the names) and both are practically dead. People just don't visit splinter subreddits. Navigating megathreads is poo poo and generally speaking anything that involves following a link in a comment will get vastly less engagement than a link post. It's a wonderful way to kill a community.

Yea, iirc the 10 mill and 11 mill events dropped with literally no pre-announcement so if anything this is the unusual one. I recall waking up to a friend lining me furiously the morning of the 10 mill one since he habitually gets up early in case of random updates.

He also has his own drama CD where as part of his vengeance in Rome he permanently kills a Cardinal who turn out to be the immortal vampire Roa, the main villain from Tsuikhime. This is supposedly the turning point between the Tsukihime and Fate timelines, where the power of man overcomes the power of the occult, and I think is mentioned as being the reason why in the fate timeline the 27 dead apostle ancestors don't exist and the summoning of heroic spirits from the throne of souls is possible. Nasu and the rest have quite a nerd boner for Dantes compared to similar one-off event servants.

Nate RFB posted:If the main sub has ~40,000 viewers who (apparently) only care about comics/fluff over any gameplay or banner discussions, wouldn't they move to such other subs out of necessity? I mean the general point is that they don't want to because they like getting their fluff and gameplay stuff in one place and when they have to go to 3 to get what they used to get from 1, they just say gently caress it and stop. In general the changes seem to have some really spurious reasons at their heart. They seem driven by a combination of a discord clique that heavily diverges in opinions from the subreddit as a whole, a mod staff that needs more members for such a large subreddit, and some apparent desire to send more traffic to the main FSN subreddit.
