GMK caps are expensive but also probably the highest-quality ones out there.

The Deadly Hume posted:I should point out that the base set on Nautilus looks very versatile, whereas on a lot of drops if you want to cover a full-size keyboard you pretty much have to get the base set, a modifier set and a numpad set which ends up costing about the same. Not all Tai Hao sets are ABS; Hawaii, Miami, Sunshine and I think a few others are PBT.

chippy posted:OK, so a bit of research seems to indicate that everyone hates this coating and it makes the caps feel horrible. Yet Tao Hao caps are pretty popular in this thread and I don't remember seeing anyone complaining about the coating. What's the deal here? Is it not as bad as everyone makes out? The one I got from Massdrop earlier this year did not have the coating. Apparently the organizer of the group buy specifically requested that it not be applied due to the negative reaction from customers on a previous group buy.

NTRabbit posted:Is there a diifference between PBT and doubleshot PBT, or is it just lazy copy writing? Double-shot is one method of adding the legends to the keycaps; it essentially means the legends are molded right into the keycaps as part of the molding process. Other options are dye-sublimated, in which ink is injected into the plastic, and pad-printed (what that Ducky has), in which the legends are essentially stamped onto the top of the key. Pad-printed is the least durable; dye-sub and double-shot are pretty much permanent.

G-Prime posted:Typing this from my new Pok3r, pretty happy with it. Super quiet, with the o-rings, and the black switches feel great. Now I just need my drat wrist rest to show up. The angle of my wrists is awkward as hell without one. Not sure how I'm going to reconcile that in the ~6 weeks before it's supposed to get here. Might just have to use a book or something.
