My mother was really intrigued by The Talos Principle after hearing me carry on about it and wanted to give it a whirl. She took one look at it and was very confused; it turns out she was expecting something similar to a crossword or sudoku. She couldn't comprehend the idea of a puzzle existing in a three-dimensional space. I thought it was sort of fascinating, but it also really made me want a game centred around solving sudoku puzzles interspersed with philosophical musings.

You and your mother could play The Witness
I definitely thought of that game at the time (which I've played and enjoyed), but one of my favourite parts of it are the enviromental puzzles, and I'm not sure how you would achieve something like that with sudoku. Perhaps I'll mention it to her, but I think even learning to navigate a game like that would take some effort on her part.

Bought a little indie game from the summer sale, Abzu. One of those little exploration/puzzle games with no dialogue of any kind, leaving you to puzzle through things in a gorgeous world. This one's unique twist is that it's set underwater, and it's everything I'd hoped Subnautica would be.

Not a long or complex game, but gorgeous and the controls work pretty well once you figure them out.
ABZU is aesthetically gorgeous and incredibly joyful.

What were people's First Video Game?
I honestly can't remember as I didn't own a console or computer until quite late in life, so most of my childhood gaming experiences were courtesy of friends, acquaintances, and the school library computers. I do have fond memories of playing Sim Ant and Sim City, though.

Princess Mononoke is my favourite. I rewatch it every year.

It made me realise that I could have easily become one of those people who are a bit too enthusiastic about wolves if I'd come across it at a more impressionable age.

Just a warning, for some reason "Cagliostro anime" returns results for something completely different and I now have child pornography in my browser history.

It's in the image results, although I'm not sure why you'd want to check as my post was meant to serve as a deterrent for anybody else who might have been curious and would be potentially upset by seeing such a thing. The art style was obviously very different from anything typically associated with Hayao Miyazaki, so I went to have a closer look and was greeted with a body pillow featuring a nude child in a sexualised pose. The most questionable website I visit is in fact this one.

I doubt anybody here is at all interested in my ordeal, but I changed some settings and was able to prevent the offensive image from showing up again. However, it's concerning to know that apparently Google believes it was something I wanted to see, as viewing things of that nature is genuinely traumatic for me (I had bit of a cry and feel somewhat better, though). Are there any precautionary measures I can take for the future, or is it all a little pointless when frequently browsing a website founded upon cataloguing horrible things?

I did, but it feels like a temporary fix as I'm not sure what Google considers to be objectionable content. I may just have to live with it.

My apologies! I'll try to keep personal anecdotes to myself from now on, or find a more appropriate place to share them.

For the record, The Castle of Cagliostro looks amazing. I'm just annoyed with myself for not simply typing out the title of the show in full.

And to answer the current question, I've been playing a lot of FEZ and Future Unfolding. Both equally beautiful and relaxing games.

Hey it's ok, sometimes google just unfortunately does that kind of poo poo and I just want you to be able to feel better from all of this. Jackasses have turned triggers into a joke but if something is legitimately bothering you, you don't need to feel bad for being bothered by it. It's perfectly normal to feel hurt by things you don't like and I'm sorry that you ended up feeling bad as a result of circumstances beyond your control. I just hope you continue to feel better and that it doesn't happen again, or that if it does happen again, not anytime soon. I have PTSD and KCB has PTSD so we both know what it's like when something just sets you off and you just feel ill and awful and dreadful afterwards.

Stay well, basalt.
I appreciate this. Thank you!

My bedroom is sparsely decorated, but that doesn't mean I don't practice gross levels of consumerism elsewhere!

Like Steam.
