I have a boxing newbie question The body shot knocked him down but the ref didn't call the fight off til he saw the eye. If the eye was the problem why'd it take til he got knocked down with a body shot to stop it?

After a knockdown it's customary that the fighter must walk towards the referee with their gloves up and indicate they are willing to continue; if say no or seem unresponsive then the referee will stop it. Kinoshita was moving back when he should have walked forward.

fast cars loose anus posted:I have a boxing newbie question the commentator mentioned that the corner was covering the eye with ice between rounds, when the fight starts the ref has to look at more things than one guy's eye so you usually wait for a break in the action to assess rather than just flat out stopping it. it would have almost certainly been called off at the end of that round regardless.
