The idea of Pertwee being the first choice to play Mainwaring is pretty hilarious given one of his other roles was kind of an uber-Walker (CPO Pertwee in The Navy Lark). Fair play on the dude for having range, though (heck, he also voiced what feels like half the minor characters in The Navy Lark).
