Really I would've preferred it be the fun adventures of Senkuu and his idiot friend (+his girlfriend) reinventing everything for a while longer before a central conflict was introduced, but it's still pretty funny so far.

I'm still kinda wondering why a scientific method dude like Senkuu wouldn't have had a talk with Ruri for like a minute about her symptoms before just dosing her with a random potency sulfur drug.

The only thing I think she could have with the coughing blood and weakness would be TB and Sulfonamide probably wouldn't be potent enough to cure that. Also I wonder if they'll cover the side effects, because those aren't pleasant.

It's pretty common for mangaka to have been, or continue making porn during their careers. For some reason the pearl-clutching videogame criticism crowd got mad that the (FEMALE) artist that designed the big-boobed bunny-girl from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had done the same thing.

I mean, just FYI almost every professional artist has a spank bank. Basically everyone who works/worked for Disney falls into this btw (see: Chris Sanders of Lilo and Stitch). Same with people like Bruce Timm.

Taiju and his GF are dumb compared to Senkuu but still probably more experienced/smarter on average than most of the villagers. Taiju's girl is apparently very skilled at handicraft, and Taiju despite his pacifistic nature is probably tougher than most of the village (and despite being a buffoon has a lot of basic education the villagers likely do not).

Yeah kinda silly. Katanas are not a terrible choice though because they don't require as much Iron as European swords. Also they're working with lovely iron sand because Japan doesn't have much in the way of iron deposits so the "1000 FOLDED HANZO STEEL" forging is about all they got without better chemicals and tools.

I guess Tsukasa could look for meteoric steel and cold-forge stuff or look for obsidian.

I hope when Tsukasa loses he's a good sport about it and joins the kingdom of science with his apeperson army. Then the next several chapters are Senkuu plowing through the tech tree with all the additional labor and likely unearthed old world expertise.

I bet Senkuu could hit Taisho-era Japan in a few years.

I think the problem is that you need a significant number of trained engineers/scientists to accomplish a lot of modern society things (and I'm including stuff like 18th/19th century as "modern"). Like Senkuu himself has said, he can't figure out everything instantly himself (and would likely have great difficulty designing an automobile or something), and a new generation of engineers/scientists would need to be trained to spend time on the multitude of subjects Senkuu doesn't have time for. So basically you'd need at least 10+ years for a bunch of people to get an adequate education for tacking various things (including resource acquisition, like mining, which requires its own technology).
Skipping a lot of the interstitial steps in technological advancement will provide huge, huge increases in tech after getting past certain roadblocks.

The big issue is mining like you mentioned I think. Japan really does have poo poo for ore deposits and you're not getting much done without being able to reliably crank out steel, bronze, etc. or mine coal.

There a cheap super low-tech way to crank out bio-diesel?

Still finding it odd that Tsukasa is somehow good at digging up people who agree with him just by sight. Like the whole "hey no more lovely society, gently caress science" sounds cool until you have two brain cells rub together and think, "wait, what if I get a cold or something, also didn't people thousands of years ago only live to like 40 at best on average??"

The thing I still don't buy is Gen lasting long at all in Tsukasa-land. He's exactly the kind of person Tsukasa would instantly dispose of the moment he outlived his usefulness because Tsukasa clearly could see the dangers of letting him hang around even if he was thoroughly bribed with women. I can't imagine the kind of people Tsukasa would release would respect him much either.

Hyoga can go rogue, or there could be another group of people who depetrified earlier that are further up the tech tree and far less nice than Senkuu, or they could just skip to "the end" as it were and have it revealed that a faction of some sort engineered the petrifying light so they could be god kings of the remains of the world- so it's Senkuu's nation vs the decendants of the original conspirators, possibly rocking old world or even better tech. I'm guessing at this since I imagine the light was caused by man, probably purposely.

Or you could just have Senkuu and co deal with a good old fashioned natural disaster like a typhoon or maybe earthquake or contagious disease or whatever.

There's a lot you can do.

I forget the exact type of spear but it's one where you kinda wobble/rotate it with a handguard that's wrapped around the body of the spear which makes the tip wobble/rotate as it goes towards its target. It's supposed to be extremely hard to block or deflect.

A galleon isn't exactly the best design that could be done even with the limited materials at their disposal but I doubt they could easily identify and de-Stone a shipwright with experience in pre-industrial ship building skills.

The real trick is gonna be the sails and other materials. They kinda trivialize the fact they don't have great materials available.

Pretty much. 3000 years of 0 humans is a complete reset button for most things- poo poo, just a couple hundred years would probably be. The only things that would probably still be gone would be any large fauna we placed in the position of needing direct human intervention via breeding programs to save so sadly we'd wake up to a world that probably didn't have most species of Rhino, Elephants, etc. Unless by some miracle breeding populations managed to form by sheer happenstance. The ocean would be in real good shape too- I'd think most species of whale would repopulate provided they survive 2-3 generations of basically being seafaring toxic waste (Orcas and many other whales are so loaded with toxins and chemicals from pollution due to their blubber retaining it that their corpses are quite literally considered toxic waste when they wash up. It's flat out unsafe to process them).
