Yikes. They were smart enough to run small markets and position themselves as a talent pipeline for the NFL rather than a competitor to it and they still couldn't even make it through a single season. Turns out what they were doing was say someone in the company wanted to order a $10k piece of equipment, but we already had a spare of that equipment sitting in the warehouse, we would ship out the spare and book $10k in savings because you see someone was going to spend that money and then they didn't.

Motels were hotels that were built along the highways (motor hotel) back when driving across the country was a new and novel thing. Over time more hotels were built and motels became less novel and more synonymous with being cheap and run down.
