It's very much a primer to the game's mechanics and weapons, and not a whole lot more. There are some bosses, but they've got about as much depth as typical modern Mario bosses.

If you literally don't have internet, I can't recommend Splatoon 2. Salmon Run is fun tho, and while I get bit salty about it, it's good enough that the game is worth playing since I hate pvp. It still does require partying with three other randoms who have apparently never played video games before, so if you want completely solo experience, you probably want to buy something else.

Finally managed to get into profreshional, playing only with randoms (although if some EU people want to team up, I'm game). The only weapon set I was having issues with was the goo tuber, heavy splatling one from a while back, where I just constantly bounced from part-timer to apprentice and back for ages. Once I got to go-getter, other randoms started to become better and I didn't lose a single game in overachiever, which was nice.

The single player in this is leagues better than 1 by the mere fact of not being stuck with the same gun the entire time. The final boss is a little lame but that's not the worst thing in the world.
