I just heard that Salmon Run is going to be an intermittent mode that you can only play whenever Nintendo decides to make it available, does anyone have a source on that?

They're going to lock playable Octolings behind Octoling amiibo, believe it.

I don't know how it'll be with this game but in general, NOE's English script tends to stick closer to the original than NOA's, so if anyone's genuinely upset, go ahead and A/B them once the game's out.

Her Japanese description literally includes the phrase "sexy DJ".

Didn't Nintendo close their European localisation branch at one point? I think NoE just outsources their work nowadays.

I'm carefully optimistic the British English Pearl and Marina will be more... British in their behaviour.

They do but that was a few years ago now and it hasn't changed their approach.

That's kind of hosed up that they've finally started using these for advertising, imo

The first game already did it a bunch in all regions.

Famitsu ran a contest for fan-submitted gear/graffiti - the top two images will be added to the game, the others are runners up: https://www.famitsu.com/news/201710/05143209.html

If the datamined content is any indication, they planned longer-term support for ARMS but didn't follow through with it for whatever reason, perhaps because the game wasn't selling in a sustained way.

ARMS' content and feature suite were consistent with that of a traditional fighting game and it dropped off for all the reasons traditional fighting games tend to drop off.

Japan gets sponsored splatfests about the real issues like concepts of biological magic and nuggets vs French fries, while the US always just gets Who's your favorite cartoon character.

They also get Ramen Brand Flavor #1 vs. Ramen Brand Flavor #2 so they aren't perfect.

This one's absolutely the worst because not only is it a weeks-long ad for a show that's nobody's seen but they seem to have changed all the old character templates for this version, so the characters aren't even what you'd remember them being... like, apparently they got Jean-Ralphio from Parks & Rec to voice Leonardo and he's a tryhard ladies' man or something?
