Braun basically beat the poo poo out of Roman and looked better than him, then Roman did something idiotic and basically beat himself, then Roman got furious about losing fairly and he stole a vehicle and then attempted to murder Braun using that vehicle.

I mean it probably isn't a double turn but it sure doesn't feel like Roman was booked as a face. And the commentary didn't bend over backwards to justify it, as they usually would for faces.

Like seriously do you think Braun would be getting these reactions if he was in a feud with like, Seth Rollins or Bray Wyatt or some poo poo

I want to be excited about Braun, and I would like to think they'll treat Joe differently after this.

But they won't. And we all know it. Braun is just the long Roman feud, and Joe was the "heh, check this out SMARKS" opponent that Vince likes to jerk around every now and then. Both will be back in the shuffle. Neither will matter come Wrestlemania.

As always, this is the WWE's opportunity to make me eat my words. But they won't take it, because they are the WWE.

They had Roman go over Taker cleaner and easier than pretty much anyone in history 4 months ago to close out Mania (Brock comes close but I figure that match would have been much more competitive if not for the concussion,) does anyone actually believe that Braun isn't going to be soundly beaten on Raw sometime in late July/early August to set Roman up for Brock at Summerslam

I think that's hard to answer. I've said before that I think Roman matches benefit greatly from the intensity of the crowd reactions. You're basically guaranteed to get loud boos and loud cheers, chants, etc. because people either love Roman or hate him. So Braun definitely benefits from that.

On the other hand, if Braun was feuding with someone else, he most likely would not be booked the same. I bet crowds would enjoy a monster that repeatedly beats the poo poo out of an upper-carder and tips them over in an ambulance and throws tiny wrestlers into garbage bins. But if he was feuding with, say, Rollins, I doubt they'd dedicate that much time and effort to him. Does Roman deserve credit for the fact that Braun gets way more time to be built as a threat because the company devotes more effort to things involving Roman?

Paul Heyman on his worst night puts more emphasis and vitriol into his promos than like half the loving roster on both shows. You know this, man. He's phoning it in, but in sheer ability he is definitely the best talker in the company even if he's underutilizing it.

A dude who has the ability to be great but currently isn't because of lovely booking is still a better talker than somebody who is just flat out bad, like Roman Sufferin' Succotash Reigns.

THREE TIME! THREE TIME!
I'll give Roman this much: with the infuriating way that the company has been booked completely around him to make him look strong for the past few years, I have built up enough searing hatred for him that he could get clowned on every night for the next decade and it would continue to entertain me. I enjoy watching him be made to look stupid.

Roman Reigns is fine. He should be in a spot for a fine talent, someone like a Christian or Luger - a guy who can have credible, decent-to-good quality matches with mid and upper card talent and can occasionally hold a top belt for a transition period or during a time where the real top guys need time to rest or heal injuries.

He's not in that spot. He's in the Hogan spot. He doesn't lose, except when there are shenanigans, and when he loses he can act whiny and petulant and give the heel his comeuppance for the crime of winning a match, and his music plays and you're supposed to cheer and let him pose and strut and always be seen as above anyone who stands in his way.

It's not working, it hasn't worked, it will continue to not work, and nobody in the company cares.

I never said Roman's a better talker than Paul. I said Paul is doing lazy and/or repetitive poo poo that doesn't entertain me and I'm literally as bored if not more bored of it than Roman which is really damning. Exact same goes for Brock v. Roman on the wrestling front..
