All this gets extra silly given Transformers is routinely rebooted all the time and rarely bothers to maintain consistency even within a particular incarnation. With the original show probably being the least consistent of all. Also, isn't there a giant Optimus Prime status somewhere in China?

Basically, how Transformers actually reproduce is different in every single incarnation, and often each one has two or three entirely different means of doing so. Sometimes they're literally built and mass-produced in factories, sometimes they're cloned and grown in vats, sometimes they spring to life spontaneously when a plot device touches any random junk. (Literally) Any random poo poo you come up with is probably true somewhere, though they usually find human reproduction really weird. Also means you have some that are literally born yesterday alongside others who are casually references as being older than the human species. Kinda funny given the show has had episodes about dealing with extremists in your movement trying to drive you to violence, how annoying and damaging 'allies' who think they're the heroes of the story are, and mindfulness and cognitive therapy. The show is clearly aware of its fans and trying to un-break their brains a little bit.
