Edmund's (and Tyler Glaiel) newest release, The End is Nigh, is available on Steam for purchase!
This follows a bit in Meat Boy's footsteps, but with a more classic adventure platforming sort of feel. You play as Ash, some sort of gooey post-apocalyptic recluse, who finally has to leave his desecrated apartment to construct a "friend" from scratch using "tumors" you find scattered about. Classic Edmund!

Watch me descend multiple levels of insanity trying to complete as much of this game as I can handle. It's not particularly long from what I've seen, but trying to be a completionist will take its toll if I go down that dark road. Consider this more of a "let's look at" or a blatant advertisement than an informational playthrough, as is the tendency with blind gameplay!

I may have Platinum God'd Isaac, but this is going to be a wholly different experience!
Episodes:
-Cartridges:
20—Fallen Fantasy Fallen Fantasy
19—Ash Climber Ash Climber
18—Flea Market Catastrovania, Dig Dead
17—Yard Sale Mortaman (unbreakable!), Blaster Massacre, River City Rancid
-Main campaign:
21—Namesake (Nevermore)
16—Remedy (Acceptance)
15—Torment (Ruin)
14—Affliction (Blight)
13—Malaise (Gloom)
12—Discomfort (Anguish)
11—Stage V (Tumor collection complete)
10—Excise (Tumor collecting)
9—Spelunking (Golgotha)
8—Hollow Knight (The Hollows)
7—Header (S.S. Exodus)
6—Avian Ascent (Wall of Sorrow)
5—Mad Machine (The Machine)
4—Retrograde (Retrograde)
3—Divine Judgment (Overflow)
2—Arid Advancement (Arid Flats)
1—The Beginning of The End (The End)

These will be uploaded weekly at ~6PM CDT (coinciding with my Binding of Isaac walkthrough series).

Moving onwards through the next area. This time I actually manage to find a decent amount of collectibles! The most fun part of this is watching the death counter increment each time we see the main menu.

For once I actually grab every (regular) tumor in the area on my first go. We come across an interesting crossroads here that probably determines the course of the game—who wouldn't take the road less traveled?

Taking the rightmost path of the Split, we explore Retrograde, a place with an interesting aesthetic and lots of, uh, "environmental hazards".

Without any further delay, here's one apparent endpoint of the game; The Machine. A uniquely extra-long and non-linear area, this was a blast to explore!

This game looks nuts, and really sadomasochistic/depressing. Pretty much like all of Edmunds games now that I think of it.

None of my recording sessions have been more than an hour... yet. The endgame turns all this up to 11, so be looking forward to that. But yeah, despite outward appearances this game is actually extremely fun!

Starting the upwards route from the Split, we traverse the Wall of Sorrow, aptly named. Lots of bird-like creatures make it an interesting place to work through.

Psychedelic Eyeball's review of The End is Nigh is subtitled "I Wanna Be the Meat Boy" because of its reliance on precision platforming. He wasn't that big of a fan of it, got a big ol' "eh" from him. He streamed it but I think an LP format is much easier to watch, so I'll make sure to catch up with this in due time.

Thanks! Yeah, I've noticed almost everyone seems to be simply posting VODs straight from Twitch; most of the time I end up editing out at least a third of the raw footage simply because it's needless failure, a luxury that you can't get from those.
He makes a lot of good points there. I haven't really been thinking critically, mostly because I haven't tried any of the life-based stuff yet. At the very least the standard game is a blast to go through.

Time to grab the head of our deceased friend! The S.S. Exodus area is seemingly even more challenging than the Machine, although somewhat more linear. However, I find quite a few detours for secrets ranging from the mundane mega tumors to a completely new Unknown area.

Sorry for the late posting—here we take the final of the three paths down into the Hollows! Some tricky enemy hopping and annoying boiling water make this a bit of a pain to navigate, but nothing we can't handle. I actually full-clear this area, grabbing every mega tumor and the cart.

What this game actually reminds me of are those obscure free exploration games that released years ago via different people. One in particular I can't remember the name of is about this egg who rolls around and who's world is ruled by evil ghosts. I'll edit this if I can find its name.

Edit: Apparently it was called "An untitled story"??? That sounds about right.

Wrapping up the last of these worlds, we grab a fly-infested torso from the depths of what appears to be hell. After this one I intend on going back and rounding up all those bits and pieces we missed before proceeding with the story!

I didn't really feel the first video so I didn't really follow this. But this LP gets way better as it progresses. It's a fun watch. Especially since you seem to be dying at the same points as me.

it's been pretty interesting to watch you get better and better at the game as the videos go on, quite a different experience from an LP of someone who has already mastered whatever they're playing.

Right? And I've only seen one other episodic LP like this (and a relative surplus of twitch VODs).
Thank you all for the support! This latest video should provide a good deal of closure, tying up a lot of loose ends. Now that I know the ins and outs of finding secrets, we've gone and cleaned up every tumor, cartridge, and Unknown level from those first two worlds.

I'm not even sure which one that is but it would be nice to at least clear every cart level once, even the horrifying glitched ones which we will stumble upon soon enough!

So you were trying to reach an NPC above The End 13, and couldn't figure out how to reach it. I think I saw how though, there's a little spike tile that drops from the ceiling above the left entryway, but the gap it makes is covered by your tumor counter. I think you need to use that tile while it's dropping to jump up into the gap it created.

two characters from others games by the creator of an untitled story were playable in super meat boy [runman and ogmo]. I got here from clicking the ad I haven't watched the videos sorry OP

Yeah, to be honest the same goes for me. Initially when I noticed the thread I was just finished with the game and was kinda interested. I watched the first episode and really wasn't interested. But if you were dedicated enough to buy an add for this I felt like it would be right to give it another chance. It really did get way better, mostly because it feels like your skill improved a lot.

I hope you do realize that you have to 100% this game now. Your fans i.e. I demand it :colbert:

It seems like distinguishing whether or not a place is safe from poison is pretty tricky for a lot of people. The gas hitboxes are pretty weird too which doesn't help.

Well, here it is. Anyone who may have thought this would be the end of the game is in for a wild ride! Somehow, a second nuclear winter was unleashed upon the land, and now we have to navigate a much tougher version of the game, using our previously gathered tumors as lives!
