God, I really want to see the full show. Also I can't wait to hear how the rest of this album is going to sound. He's got a band playing on this song, so I hope they're playing on the rest of it too.

e: Here's a fan-shot video of the whole show

Yep, Chaos Magic sounds unreal. This album needs to come out soon :negative:

It seems like the guitar-heavy sound is a bit polarizing among his fans but I like it! Granted, I was already a fan of danceable rock of the early 2000s.

Speaking of nostalgia, is anyone else listening to Ninajirachi’s album? I’ve had it on constant repeat since it was released last month and her lyrics reflect on what it felt like coming of age and being terminally online during the early 2000s internet.

Her sound reminds me a bit of Porter Robinson and Knife Party, but her voice is a more sweet and she has a lot of great little production flourishes. I got to see her play it live during her North America tour and the energy was awesome.

I think it’s worth listening the whole thing through because the transitions and pacing of the songs is great, so here’s the complete album on YouTube:

I will second the ninajirachi album, it's incredible, probably one of my albums of the year atm

She also does a hell of a DJ set - saw her last year at Laneway and it was glorious. I am so glad we have someone carrying the torch for complextro in 2025 and doing it with such good songwriting

Okay, so I had a very strong reaction to seeing Autechre live. Their set was an hour and a half long, and for that entire time you're in complete darkness, with the only light sources being the green glow from the exit signs. That's disorienting, and the music is disorienting too, so the whole experience is just that: disorienting. My friend I went with said he got adjusted to it after a little while, and I guess I did too, but I could still feel the runtime of their set. It was stressful, and as someone who's had them before, I was surprised I didn't have an anxiety attack during the show.

I don't know if any of you have seen the band Swans live. They don't fit this thread at all. But their live show I saw a decade ago had a drone section and people were leaving because they couldn't handle it. For the longest time, it felt like my benchmark as far as shows that are endurance tests go, but now Autechre have taken their place for me.

Don't worry dude, I ended up having to leave after about 45 minutes because it was so intense lol. At least I got tickets somehow for $5 a piece and "saw" most of the set. Did anyone else notice how stupidly cheap people were ditching tickets for? If it was less wall-to-wall like I was anticipating it might not have felt as suffocating.

I also came in here to post a bootleg of that night's set. Don't click if you have tickets to an upcoming show!

Flol. All of the tickets for the shows here were bought up by scalpers in the first couple of minutes and going for $200-400.

Aww, I'm sorry to rub it in lol. I think the circumstances were probably unique for Denver since it got moved from the Gothic to the Ogden, so the added capacity meant a bunch more people got to buy face and the scalpers ate poo poo on that show.

Saw Kaytranada x Justice last night, it was soooooo sick. Hardly ever desire go to arena shows but I got great seats in club level for cheap. Tried to catch as much of Game 7 in the lounge that I could, vibes were crazy there. Super disappointed that Kay is going to perform at that Saudi music festival, he was a great value add to the deal. My only regret is that I didn't go see Justice at Red Rocks as well.

X-Posting from the Hip Hop thread: if you guys aren't seeing Danny Brown on the Stardust tour, you're loving up hardcore. That might be the best rap concert I've ever been to. Danny was on fire, and Femtanyl and Underscores were great openers. I genuinely got goosebumps when the latter sampled NY Excuse by Soulwax for one of her songs. I've kinda bounced off her studio work but she's excellent live, just like I got and was expecting from the other two. Femtanyl is one of my favorite digital hardcore artists, she rips. Glad I finally got to see her, the date I saw Machine Girl we got Lightning Bolt as one of the openers instead.

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
Managed to catch Yotto live last weekend and it was an insanely good gig, in an old abandoned power station. A lot more upbeat and melodic than a lot of stuff that gets posted here, but hey - I'm a classic trance guy at heart.

Couple of highlights were his new one, Flash Pattern:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAllnvtG75s

And a slightly older one called Another Riff For the Good Times overlayed with M83's Outro, and honestly the energy nearly started the old turbines :v:
