Anyone have earplugs they can recommend for live shows? The loops sound good while keeping the volume decent.

The Quiet are those non acoustic earplugs I was talking about before. I have the experiences and really like them. The reason the acoustic earplugs have less DB reduction is that they have small holes to let some sound in.

Testing them against the foam earbuds by listening to livesets at 100% volume on my HD650's, they definitely sound less muffled. I was worried -18dB might not be enough, but it might turn out to be a good compromise: a bit more attenuation would be nice, but my foam earplugs did make it difficult to hear people. We'll see how they perform at club volume on Friday.

Ear Peace is another good option for tuned earplugs. They offer similar ranges of dB reduction, sound fine, and come in a slick metal keychain holder, which has a compartment for a spare plug (which is also a great place to hide a small bag of pills or powder). The only complaint I have about them is that the plastic ends stick a little bit out of your ears; if you plan to use them for DJing they can get in the way of certain headphones whose drivers are very close to your ears. Of course, my big problem is that I never wear them while DJing and often forget to put them in attending shows.

This lineup is so good but if they're starting at 5pm, I wonder how late they're gonna play since last call for alcohol is 2am. The cheapest I can book the trip is $500 for flight (Spirit), hotel (EconoLodge), and tickets which seems... very reasonable?

Just got tickets to see Krewella at the Ogden Theater next week for my birthday. I figured with the current hellscape in the US the least I could do is support some women DJ's. Besides them, Rezz and Allyson Wonderland who are some other good women DJs?
