i like to think the androids aren't as strong as frieza they just have unlimited stamina making them bullshit to fight since up to that point the only thing goku had fought as super saiyan was a gassed out frieza and the form still drained stamina at that point until goku perfected it

Unlimited stamina still has to be paired with a high level of strength and resilience and energy output. Even if I guzzle a few Cuban espressos I probably still can't destroy a solar system.

Piccolo merged with Kami and got more powerful than any (at the time) SSJ and was equal to 17 outside of stamina. 18 clowned Vegeta without much relative effort.

Frieza got a simplified slimmed-down final form to avoid drawing all his spikes and gribblies, Super Saiyan got light-colored hair to cut down on inking, but somehow Cell never got the Overworked Artist Glow-up
