TERMINATOR: UNEASY ALLIANCE This summer in theaters. Rated R. I could see someone in Hollywood fart out a screenplay for something like that.

I watched Lockdown with Guy Pearce, Peter Stormare and Maggie Grace last night. The Wiki tells me that John Carpenter sued the studio for ripping off Escape from NY/LA (and won), but still, it was better than most homages to that series. That scene in John Wick 3 where it's just him and a bunch of other people throwing antique knives and axes and hatchets at each other in a narrow hallway is one of my favorite action movie fight sequences ever. So loving brutal. Right up there with The Raid 2's fight with Baseball Bat Boy and Hammer Girl.

Demolition Man is easily one of the best scifi dystopia action films ever made. And it should never, in a million years, be remade. I’ve heard unsubstantiated rumors for a long time about there being a sequel script being collaborated on, but another George R. R. Martin GoT book will be released before that sees the light of day, i’d imagine.

Stallone pulls off some great comedy in Demolition Man. Him just constantly being exasperated by all the future bullshit and then, as a result, cussing as the swearing ticket machine so he has enough paper to wipe his rear end was great.

I watched a little bit of The Expendables 2 the other day while making dinner, and there’s a scene where Jason Statham stabs a guy in the throat, and then goes “By the powers vested in me, I now pronounce you man and KNIFE!”, and it is scriptwriting malpractice that wasn’t an Arnold line 30 years earlier.
