Has anyone played Hammerwatch Heroes? It looks very fun to play on the couch with my girlfriend (I think).

Pillars of Eternity 2 is made by the same people and is much, much more friendly mechanically/tactically. In fact, the primary criticism of the game is that it is far too easy, even on the highest difficulty settings. It might be worth checking out if you're intimidated by CRPGs.

If they have a way to rebuild buildings so I can wreck poo poo again that would be just great. It was great fun blowing poo poo up, but then you run out of poo poo to blow up and that is a bummer.

Just wanna say I bought a game called "Rise to Ruins" on a lark and ended up going to bed at 3AM last night because I couldn't stop playing. It's basically a dwarf fortress/gnomoria game mashed together with tower defense, also kinda like Black and White with the god powers tied to your magical god cursor. Anyways, it was $5 and I feel like poo poo because of it and I highly recommend it.

The Kins posted:You should post a link to the game you like! Like this one. I very much thought I did, my bad. Thank you for posting it though (and as the first post on a new page)!

ThisIsNoZaku posted:Wow, Book of Demons really is just Diablo 1. I don't care for the papercraft look but I can't deny how absolutely similar the gameplay is. It's kind of annoying being on rails but once you look at it, every Diablo game is basically on rails. I also missed the Dungeon Keeper craze way back when, but picked up Dungeons 3 back when it was on sale, and I realized how much I missed with PC gaming back in the day. I mean, Dungeons 3 loving rules and people say it's just like Dungeon Keeper (the dialogue is terrible). I pretty much just played Blizzard games on PC and really missed out on some kickass games/genres.

Well, Frostpunk rules so I kind of can't blame them.

I got Battle Brothers. A very good game. A very brutal game. It's like an RTS.. well, turn-based version of Mount and Blade. You get put in a random, procedurally generated world with random cities, names, etc., and basically just survive. You manage a company of boiz, you get frustrated as gently caress at RNG bullshit, and eventually you.. I guess manage more, stronger boiz I don't actually know, but it's fun for now. It needs some more content and workshop support for sure though.

I played the Endless Space 2 free weekend and really enjoyed it. However I got real pissed that it was $11 during the free weekend and full price immediately afterwards, when I would need to buy it to continue playing it. Should I just wait for a sale or is a sale out of the question in the near future.

It's not annoying, or at least not as annoying as the alternative of being told you were too late all the time.

For MH:W, yeah you fight the same monster across (usually) the same over-arching map, but the paths and places within which you fight them are different. For example you might fight Barroth, a big rock-dinosaur, in a flat desert, a craggy area, an oasis within a desert, or a swamp. All within the same map, and it runs from you every so often to a new area. There are 4 other monsters in this map that are pretty vastly different. Then there are like 5 other maps, with sets of about 5 unique-ish monsters in each one. Then there are HR things where they have harder/different versions of the monsters you fought. Then when you fight them, you might enrage them, you might knock off their tail, you might exhaust them-- all these cause different moves you have to contend with. Also, while you fight them all there's a good chance other monsters are gonna pop up and either both try to fight you or they fight each other. Plus you have vastly different weapons, tools, etc. So yeah you fight the same guy more like 5 times to get everything you'll ever need from them (more if you're doing high-level 1% drop chances which is dumb), but pretty much every time will be different. But it is the same monster.

Too Shy Guy posted:Seems pretty clear from the description. Right-wing British government makes all European immigrants (including you) second-class citizens, and you sign up for an Uber-style app that gives bouncer gigs to make ends meet. Oh wait do Brits think they're not European? That would make more sense.

fadam posted:Is there a particular dongle you guys would recommend for using a DS4 up to Steam? I'm going to be like ~4 meters away from the USB connection. It should just work with a typical bluetooth connection. It doesn't have nearly the same problems with bluetooth as Xbox controllers do, so don't worry about it. Consider using DS4Windows though!

There was like 40,000 years of human civilization that was even dumber than medieval fantasy worlds. Usually medieval fantasy has a race of technologically-oriented goblins or whatever, that are doing cool poo poo like build cannons to shoot at cavemen. Instead we just had 50% of the men in a country die to rocks flung from a sling in a war before they were 30 because some dude's wife left him for a younger man.

At least the damage numbers don't fly off the enemies when you shoot them like Division/Destiny/Whatever. Kinda makes me want to play ESO though.
