I think I remember there being a movie where it got NC-17, and they just kept resubmitting the same movie pretending they edited it and they never noticed and eventually gave it an R rating.

Actually, last I heard for the most part smallpox blankets were accidental and only one like one or two occasions was it seriously considered as a form of biological warfare against the native Americans. Is that still what the consensus is?

Iirc, it wasn't so much that that they wouldn't have done it as it was that people back then didn't understand diseases well enough to do it.
