Recovering from the earlier blow, Silenna rears back. Tiamat prepares to strike, but Artheon darting in from the side catches her attention, and she swipes at him with her tail. Taking the moment's distraction, the warden dives in, biting straight through one of the dragon queen's many necks, ripping it open with viscera spraying everywhere.

Tiamat turns her attention away from Merritt, causing him to roar and lash out at her. "I'm the one you want, beast!" He exploits the moment to thrust his blade into her side. Upon seeing her weaken further, he darts around to her front, driving his blade into the bottom of her neck at the base of her various heads. He drags the blade along to create a substantial wound - enough to incapacitate her, but not enough to kill. "Be grateful that I have allowed you to live! Your death can be easily arranged if you do not comply with us." He glows more radiantly, his eyes and wings on the verge of turning into flames, as if to prove his point.

With Merrit's final blow, the Queen of Dragons falls to the ground limp. After a moment, she rises up, speaking out of her red head, "I yet live?" She then looks at Sevit in particular, "I did not expect to be defeated by one of my children... I'm not sure whether I should be proud or ashamed. Regardless, you shall carry this accomplishment with you for the rest of your days." She looks to Merritt, then the rest of the group before simply asking, "Why then? Why did you keep me alive?"

Saint Gladys - PDF - Reference

Patting out the last of the flames that she endured with something close to ease, Gladys disregards the massive dragon to sweep between the rest of the group! She brandishes her traditional prayers and doting care, clearing away static burns, conjuring water and applying balm to traditional burns and taking the time to massage limbs until the chill of ice is dismissed. For lacerations and broken limbs she generously conjures Sune's good graces, feeling a smug contentedness every time her prayers are answered.

Once the final wound is addressed she comes up beside Merritt, staying a step behind to respect his prominence in the conversation. She folds her arms and glowers up at each of the five headsin turn, forcing a tremendous frown. "Scolding does not take well to a corpse. I hope you will appreciate the many good opportunities this change affords you, least of all a chance to withdraw from the cruel folly of Bane. We will be restoring the natural order of things and you are a part of that."

As you leave, you hear the disembodied voice of Bane chuckling as he addresses you, "Ah, you have performed admirably, my friends. And showing such mercy too, Angel! We will see where that gets you, won't we!"

Your next adversary chosen, you walk through the great hallway of the fortress to Fzoul's chamber. The inside is extremely large, the smooth stone ground covered with curved, black marks about 4 inches thick. Deep growling noises fill the air, loud enough to cause your ears to ring. As you look around, you see five humanoids, their skin pure white and their heads shaved bald, sitting atop strange two wheeled apparatuses, holding what appear to be lances or long spears. Behind them appears to be four larger humanoids armored in full leather, including face masks adorned with horns, sitting atop four wheeled machines. Finally in the back, you see what must be Fzoul himself, his armor sporting many bizarre tubes going in and out of it, his headgear appearing to be a skull with a fearsome expression. He sits in a great armored, six wheeled vehicle, with spikes protruding from the sides.

When Sevit woke up this morning, she didn't imagine herself in this conundrum. Caught in a trawl like a common cod, tumbling across the dry dirt, snout bouncing painfully off a rock. For one so close to unlocking the secrets of multiversal travel, however, a little bodily constriction isn't much to fear. She relaxes and lets her mind expand outward, becoming one with her surroundings - and her opportunity opens up. At just the right moment, she sticks her foot out at just the right angle, hitting the ground with just the right momentum to propel her upward. Once more or less righted, a flick of her wrist brings a comet crashing down on the head of a nearby wagon and outrider. The spell's puissance echoes within her, and faster than anyone can blink, she's standing in the midst of the battlefield, upright, unentangled.

Sevit nonchalantly dusts off her lapel. "You thought to bring an army." She cocks an eyebrow at Fzoul Chembryl, wearing a wry smirk. "Look who's been listening to their teacher. You get full marks for effort." Then, without warning, her voice rises to an explosive roar, the embodiment of draconic fury. "But Bane never told you about me. There's not an army raised against me that hasn't been broken. Send all the soldiers you like; all will be but ash in my wake. Witness me!" She drives the butt of her cane into the ground, hissing an ancient Abyssal phrase. The air around her ripples, and the pale humanoid nearest her lets out a cry of pain as a gaping wound opens across its stomach. Further ripples begin to form, invisible blades slashing at Sevit's foes. The others swear they can just make out the outlines of half-humanoid, half-serpentine bodies slithering throughout the battlefield, poised to strike again.

As they move on after dealing with Tiamat, Gladys speaks cheerfully. "I am pleasantly surprised, Merritt. It is difficult to discern the chance for any redemption in this places of evil."

As the unholy racket lines up before them Gladys finds herself frowning. "... Though sometimes it is rather obvious, isn't it?" In the wake of Fzoul's opening strike Gladys finds herself tumbling along the ground, gripping her symbols close to her chest as she doesn't initially resist. At Marcus and Sevitt's prompts she seizes the net from the perfect spot and peels it open, casting it aside and rising to sing Sune's glory unto them in response! Once holy radiance has bathed her friends, she turns on the two soldiers and brandishes the mirror and the image of a scorned goddess. "Perhaps an apology?!" Her indignant rage floods into the two rowdy punks and afflicts them with a terrible need to write to their own mothers.

When the first of Fzoul's strange lackeys charge in, Arka sidesteps her assailant to appear a short distance away, shimmering like a heat haze upon the stone floor. She has become used to the thrum of battle with these allies, and the openings their aide brings. When Marcus begins his furious tune, Arka begins a tactical withdrawal, loosing four simultaneous arrows aimed at the largest foes nearby, even as Sevit's withering magicks reduce the lesser ones to ruin. Three arrows find their mark, but the fourth is swallowed up in a whorl of flame dancing off the sorcerer.

Gladys's decree slams home into the two nearest champions and, as if to give the priestess's words teeth, Arka fires a storm of razor-steel and black feathers towards first one, then the other, toppling them from their warmachines. When the dust settles, they are decidedly less outnumbered.

Heels skimming across the dirt, with a fistful of net in her hand, Sevit just barely manages to stay upright while being dragged around. Blinking back into existence, the large snake barrels down on Fzoul Embryl in a wave of a smaller brood; taking advantage of the distraction the smaller snakes provide, Silenna lashes out with her tail and moves the entire vehicle a few feet, leaving a dent in the armored side in the process.

Upended and dragged in the hooked net again, Gladys sighs and clutches her symbol close as she waits for a chance to recover from the harsh treatment. She calls upon Sune's light for herself and for the warmth she can feel in Sevit blinking wildly across the battlefield, again mending their wounds and reinforcing their spirits. She then channels power through a ruby ring on one finger, winking out of existence and riding along the bond she feels with the serpentine warden, appearing by Silenna's side. Standing upright and glaring at Fzoul's ominous tank, Gladys points at him and utters condemnation! "Today you meet those who can resist your wrath! Good will and valor bring the judgement you flee from!"

Understanding Fzoul in so brief a time was a difficult if not impossible task. Fueling her threat with a familiar anger, Gladys unleashes the stinging fires of Sune's wild passion upon him, reinforced by one simple idea: like the mother looming over a naughty child, she was here to take away his toys. So it was with many who worshiped crueler gods, seeking the means with which to terrorize others.
