You manage to pick a route around the tomb-like seat of Mammon, slogging through the mud flats and swamps until you find a large set of steps, presumably leading to the next Hell. As you appoach though, a great blue dragon--presumably subjugated by Mammon--swoops down, landing on the ground with a great crash, sending great trails of mud splashing up into the air. “Who dares tread upon the ground of the great Lord Mammon? You shall perish for defiling his domain!” it hisses, electricity crackling in it’s very breath. It then beats its wings, taking off again, hovering above ground, ready to engage in combat.

Silenna

Silenna breaks away from the group and circles around the dragon, while her cobra moves up and presses against a rock. The Warden's giant serpentine form lurches up and vomits forth a swarm of snakelings over the hovering dragon, biting at his scales and burrowing into his mind. Before long, the dragon would soon find a new master; Silenna's voice in his mind, telling him to land.

Turned ethereal, Gladys waits until the perfect moment to scold the massive Dragon! Her voice carries with it the haughty reprimand of both the divine and the Draconic, spoken in the lizard's own tongue. <"Oh Great Wyrm, reduced to servant, robbed of pride and agency by vile worm!"> There was a fine art to brandying the term worm around wyrms, but Gladys was up to the challenge! <"Doth thy heart not ache, and if false, doth thy soul not scream, to suffer such shame?! Merritt draws his sword and unfurls his wings in one coordinated motion. He charges forth to gain a running start and takes off in flight, meeting the beast directly in the air. He lands a solid stab into the dragon's chest and bellows "creature! You shall be dealt swift and painful justice by the hand of Torm himself! By my hand, your destruction cometh!" He removes his blade and returns the ground, hopefully to continue his assault. As he awaits the beast, he declares "Justice shall roll forth like a river, and righteousness a never-ending stream!"

Not feeling any need to move closer to the dragon, Arka calmly plucks two arrows from her quiver and knocks them. As Marcus, Silenna, Iada and Merritt - an angel of vengeance! - draw the beast's attention, Arka looses both arrows, each finding purchase in the softer skin between scales in the dragon's neck. Having gathered the measure of her prey, she summons Sehanine's mercy for the beast, and pulls another two arrows for immediate delivery. The first arrow strikes her previous wound in the neck and its twin follows a hairsbreadth away, sinking deep into dragon flesh.

She nods to herself as she pulls yet more arrows, zeroing in her next shot.

The dragon hisses as it is torn into by your attacks, though it is able to shake off Silenna's domination before acting. It flies up even higher off the ground and away from the group of enemies and breathes out a stream of pure lightning, arcing to Merritt, Arka and Gladys. Though they are able to dodge the majority of the attack, they still get hit with some of the shock. It then lets out a loud roar, causing a great thunderous clap in the cluster of its foes. Damaging Iada causes the dragon to feel her rebuke, and the pain bloodies the dragon, which only seems to embolden its resolve. It lets out another breath attack, again targeting Merritt, Arka and Gladys. The dragon roars again, half in pain and half from endorphins, "Fools, Agenel shall not fall today. Mammon shall give me strength!"

Off Turn: Instinctive Lightning - The dragon can fly up to its speed and use Lightning Burst. This movement does not provoke OAs. If the dragon cannot use a free action to make this attack due to a dominating or stunning effect, then that effect ends instead of the dragon making the attack. Dominate effect is cleansed

Iada is battered to the ground, stepping in front of Marcus to take the full force of the creature's initial blast, but that leaves her stunned and helpless, able to do nothing but watch as the monster's relentless attacks batter at her allies. Iada utters an angry prayer to Selune, for the first time in front of her allies emitting the soft glow of a silver aura--nowhere as bright as Merritt's or Gladys', but greatly effective at clearing the mental cobwebs holding her allies hostage. With her head clear, Iada rushes to the far side of dragon, shouting the few words she knows of draconic (all vulgarities) as she unleashes a slew of dark, glowing, green tentacles from her sword. In spite of the arcane power behind them, the dragon shrugs off the effects.

The serpent was ready to pounce when the prey was within reach; but until then, she would wait and see.

Arka - PDF

Turning her shoulder to blunt Agenel's static breath, Arka chides the dragon with a simple, "Tch."

Arrows set in her bow, she aims at a nonsensical position - directly into the ground? Her shadow lengthens, flattens impossibly, and when it touches Agenel's it snaps with a leathery pop, tearing the slight elven woman into a million black scraps. Instantly from atop Agenel, a shadow Arka rises, her colors coming up to full in the same instant the arrows are released, stabbing themselves into the tendons connecting dragon to wing! Seizing the moment, she pulls another two arrows and lets them fly into the same spot, hoping to drive the insult home.

Powerful winds form around the archer, pushing the dragon down toward her allies, hopefully into range for their attacks.

"One dragon! Coming down!" she yells downward with the enthusiasm of a farm girl bringing a prize pig home for slaughter.

Merritt shrugs off the dragon's electric blasts, with support from Iada. Once the sparks clear from the air, Merritt returns to the air to meet the beast. He drives his blade into the beasts neck and bellows "In the name of Torm, I shall execute great vengeance upon thee for your misdeeds! My sword shall become drunk with your blood!"

He withdraws his blade and plunges it back, once more, into soft gap between the dragon's scales. "There shall be no justice without order! Your actions and your lords are in full view of the Lord Torm." Hearing the beast's death wails, he gently returns to the ground and sheathes his sword to deliver something of last rites to the dying creature. "Your evil deeds borne of your wicked heart ensnare you, and your sins hold you fast. For lack of discipline, you die - led astray by your own folly. Justice has been served by your passing, and I pray my Lord shows you precisely the mercy you have earned."
