Starting Stargate SG-1 for the first time based on the thread. I really want some sci-fi but don't want an Expanse/Altered Carbon right now. Something more episodic with some underlying plot sounds perfect

And the engineer is supposed to be a genius, but never really had any ambition. I think they are supposed to be talented, but for one reason or another just never went far in their careers. Agreed. I've never understood why the thread seems to think this is some D-List crew. They're shown to be very capable/high potential even if things get weird.
