Those fancomics are kind of lame in their heavy handed pathos, but I can't really find it in myself to laugh at them.

Folt The Bolt posted:

That could possibly happen, given that they said that Goofy might be within their reach.

You have no idea how happy I would be to see Donald and Goofy go on an adventure together again. Especially WHEN Goofy drives Donald into a loving lunatic rage and then says "Sawry" and Donald feels like a huge piece of poo poo for yelling at him.

Exploration is ill-advised.

Actually might be some potential contrast there if Donald and Goofy are old friends, and while Goofy's settled into suburban life with mere sitcom shenanigans, Donald can't manage to escape the full-on adventuring lifestyle.

STOP BEING EVIL.

I think it's pretty likely Webby will be in every episode. The show's already put a lot of emphasis on her, and she's perfectly placed where she'd be in on any adventure or plot.

Avalerion posted:

I assume that's just due to them messing with the episode order. Webby questioning how Huey can still doubt stuff after all they've been through with Scrouge suggests there should have been on more adventures by now.

I dunno, you can see "all they've been through" in the notes in the Jr. Woodchuck's guide book, and it only really has things from the first episode.

They've been so thrifty with supernatural elements. The first episode had a whole load of things, but this one was all suspense and buildup. Very cinematic.

People were stupid, sometimes. They thought the Library was a dangerous place because of all the magical books, which was true enough, but what made it really one of the most dangerous places there could ever be was the simple fact that it was a library.

I'm really enjoying how they're letting different characters interact with each other every episode. It really helps keep things fresh and gives us tons of fun character dynamics.

I laughed that the Terra-firmians are pretty much the duck kids. And Launchpad is such a treasure.

Edit:

Speculation about Lena. I wonder if she and Magica are one and the same? Like Magica might have cast a spell to turn herself younger and pushed all her memories into her shadow self so that she could push "Lena" to infiltrate Scrooge's group.

Venture Bros is a brutal parody of the pulp adventure tradition that Scrooge's comics come from in the first place, so it shouldn't be surprising.

And I think they have most of the Gravity Falls staff on this.

Louie is the green one who was busy with the dime chase at the time.

Exploration is ill-advised.

The comparisons of Webby to both of the Pines twins isn't helped by that she's the one helping Dewey uncover the mystery of his mother.

Interesting that it's Dewey who happens to be the one doing that investigating; while Huey would probably be making additions to Webby's notebook (though as we've seen, despite their commonalities they have rather different approaches towards investigation, mostly in the Scully vs Mulder style) and Louie would possibly be trying to trick or coerce the information out of Donald or Scrooge. Huey, while he wants recognition and approval from the adults, doesn't trust them, and probably rightly so to tell the truth in this case, and wants to figure things out for himself, and on his own terms.
