The Eyes Have It posted:I think that looks cool. The color in the middle of the figure fading to a flat black up top really gives the sense of looming. Thank you! There's something about blue/green hues together, especially on the darker end of the spectrum, that can be really unsettling. Kinda puts a sense of unease in there. Like a storm's brewing. HopperUK posted:I love this, would put on wall The original file is probably big enough that it'd print okay, but then you'd see my gross brush strokes up close. In any case, thank you. <3

A poem about intrusive/obsessive thoughts: A word,a thought,a feeling May send you home or send you reeling In a place a man,a being Thinks the thoughts and now he's kneeling Inside a mirror, disappearing Object ,subject may god willing Only glass and space between them.

I got my hands on some really excellent chalcedony gemstones and I was having trouble drawing ocean cards that looked good with them because they are the color of water... They looked the best on some printed paper that I had but I really wanted to do better than that. Under time pressure, messing around for a day I was able to draw beach/ shoreline ocean cards both dark and light that ended up looking great. A really nice feeling

I made some art for a podcast a friend and I started and I think it's kinda neat maybe? The logo is supposed to be very 16-bit JRPG; I'm not really sure how to classify the art pieces (I use them for website backgrounds, social media headers etc) but I like where they ended up. They're a bunch of stock assets composited together in Photoshop, run through Pixatool and back into PS for some final color correction.![]() ![]() I also animated the main scene in After Effects for a YouTube intro and I like how it turned out. Pretty simple technically but I'm happy with the end result - it's each of the main elements exported as separate PNGs with some basic motion applied and a 3d camera moving through them. The animation starts around 0:06 - ignore the blank space before & after, hah. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eF24CUjp9Vw

Had this video idea living in my head for about a year before I finally bit the bullet in March and started putting it together. Really proud of the finished product and it's been doing pretty well in numbers since I uploaded it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27hhNvj34P8

For Gústi I specifically avoided crediting myself for all the stuff I actually did to avoid the Neil Breen effect of the same name popping up a dozen times in the credits.

When I was in high school I came across a piece in McSweeney's called "Pirate Riddles for Sophisticates" and laughed my rear end off. I didn't know then that McSweeney's was any kind of brand name; I simply knew it was a great place to find my kind of humor. Today, coughcoughmumblemumble years after high school, I had a humor piece published there for the first time. "We Just Can't Find Enough Boys to Do the Broadway Play" https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/we-just-cant-find-enough-boys-to-do-the-broadway-play

Dang, a McSweeney's publication! Congrats! To do my own self-promotion: I just got my first paid publication, a 200-word piece in the Strange Locations microfiction anthology. It's a Kickstarter exclusive to Apex Magazine's 2025 funding Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/apexpublications/apex-magazine-2025 Selling 200 words for $10 is pretty small potatoes, I know, but it's out there and I'm proud to have done it.
