Thanks! It'll look even better after I transplant it outside once it grows a bit more, I hope. re: STL, it's a paid model so I can't share the model itself but I can tell you where I got it: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-destroyed-t72-tank-model-2123521 I had to do some modification, like cutting a hole through the center; nothing too crazy. I also sliced off the turret and printed it separately, then glued them together. I have browsed a LOT of "wrecked tank" models to find something workable. In fact, lack of a decent model was a huge part of why the project never took off until recently, so there's value in sharing the source even if it's paid, I hope.

I wrote some song lyrics tonight that I'm pretty proud of. I waved my pride flag at brunch the other day And even though it was made by some third world slave I felt like it made me a good person People getting deported by ICE While I do a tik tok dance in the land of the free Well, I hope capitalism is worth it Saw some cops cracking skulls on the courthouse steps Went about my day it will all be swept Away when I cash my paycheck Cos' I'm gonna buy some drugs And pretend I can love Doesn't matter who it hurts How could it get worse? I spent all day watching my tv Just a way to ignore everything that I see That I hate when I look in the mirror I got up and went to bed With a very comfortable and empty head Glad that my thoughts were no nearer Even my dreams were empty and blank And in the morning it's god I thank That I can go and cash my paycheck Cos' I'm gonna buy some drugs And pretend I can love Doesn't matter who it hurts How could it get worse?

Don't have anything to show because of the nature of the work, but I just wrapped on my third feature as an Intimacy Coordinator. This puts me up to three features and two short films in four years, which I think is not too shabby as a new coordinator in an area not particularly bustling with film jobs.

I had to look that up (it was pretty much what I thought it was) Good for you!

Kind of a silly one, but still proud. I work as a programmer on Excel upload functions. Enter data, click a button, and a database updates. Problem is that these sheets need passwords, and for the past 25 years it has been stored in plain text in the code. Yes, access to the code is password protected, but that's not super secure. What I devised was a 2 part password encryption and decryption system. In short, the password is pasted in plain text in one cell. The first program breaks that 30 character password into individual pieces, and distributes them in a specific pattern in a text file among a block of 300 random characters. That file is saved on the network, so when the upload is executed, the second program decodes the password by reversing the first process. And I felt clever, because by changing what spaces were used on the text file, I could do the same process for 3 other database passwords, all in one file. I got it working, tested, and implemented...and was then informed that we now have a method to have active directory manage this.

Hello thread! I've finally gotten round to putting some of my stand-up on YouTube and dammit I think it's a thing! These were all performed at ACMS - the Alternative Comedy Memorial Society - a lovely night where comedians get to do things that are fundamentally incompatible with regular nights. The audience is real welcoming, and every act is followed by the host shouting "A failure!", and the audience replying "A noble failure!" The first is this 2 minute clip of me doing "Mime". This was the first time I'd been on stage in four years (thanks, lockdowns!), and I'd just finished a week-long clown course that really knocked my confidence. I was genuinely close to cancelling the booking. Glad I didn't though, as this might be one of the best things I've ever done (plus, I think this might be a legit new bit!) Sadly, it's only a couple of minutes and not the whole act, but I was super pleased with how it went, not the least because it's the sort of thing where, if you don't like the first ten seconds, you really won't like the remaining ten minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmB26oZ0u04 Next up was me telling and explaining a joke for seven minutes. Again, bricking it for this one, but I'm really pleased with how it went down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s93XLfOaTUA Finally, a collection of unrelated poems. I think the gingerbread man rap in this might contain some of the best things I've ever written. I mean. It's deeply stupid and utterly foul, but dammit it has bars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFB60vNBdYA So yeah. Three things I am proud of that I've done over the last ~18 months or so. Dammit I need to pull my finger out and actually do more gigs. I really want to see how the mime goes down at a perfectly normal stand-pup night where they're not expecting...that.

Programmer goon-- that's awesome! Seriously well done. Comic goon-- amazing. My bestie is an active comedian in London, let me know if you're ever in that area and I'll get you a contact:)

I decided about a year ago I was going to write a graphic novel. Since then I have worked on it almost every day and have been actively making it for about 7 months. One of the first things I decided I wanted was for my main guy to obtain a cool motorcycle, so making one for him was the first thing I did, long before I figured out how I was going to actually make the comic or why a guy who can fly would need a motorcycle. I was thinking about Katsuhiro Otomo’s art as aspirational a lot at the time and wanted that as a little nod or something. Plus I just like drawing machines and robots a lot. The funny thing about drawing every single day is that you feel yourself improving all the time, but you also don’t really see it in a tangible way cause it’s so gradual. Anyways, 50 pages in I finally got to the part where the motorcycle shows up. I liked how the frames came out and remembered that I had done some pictures of the same bike almost a year ago and wanted to cross reference how I drew it then and now. it was the first time I’ve bothered to sit back and cross reference my own stuff and it honestly felt great to see how jarring the difference is. 2024 ![]() 2025

This is a bit esoteric and I'm trying not to give enough details so as to dox myself but I argued a point in a court case a few years ago, lost that case, won the appeal with some very excellent barristers, and now the point that I was trying to argue is black and white legislation. It changed how things work for this one specific thing to be exactly how I said it should work. I thought it was common sense at the time but I'm so proud of having been seen and listened to enough for the change to become actual law. Winning the case was nice but this is so cool, some people out there saw my argument and went yeah that IS how it should work and now it's how it works!

^^ That is very cool, nice work! I successfully grew some mushrooms! It's crazy watching them spring up at a wild speed (in between long bouts of apparently doing absolutely nothing at all) These are pink oyster mushrooms and they are delicious when fried in a pan in a bit of oil until they turn golden and the edges turn brown and crisped, then add a bit of butter to finish frying (add the butter too early and the butter will burn before the mushrooms are done) and finish with a little fancy sea salt. They kind of taste like bacon when done like this, no kidding. ![]() Here they are just starting to turn color. They're not done yet but on their way. There are no photos after this because things happened very quickly and tastily. It was very rewarding to do this all myself. Mushrooms are pretty neat. It's actually a little hard to remember they aren't plants.

Yesterday, I decided not to drink, and actually have my full dose of adhd medication. This led to me downloading twine for the first time, then spending about 6 hours writing 7760 words of absolute nonsense. The end result is my first ever choose your own adventure game! i will strangle a horse https://brainmage.itch.io/i-will-strangle-a-horse Lots of people have said lots of nice things, and it's free to play! And is stupid!

I've been working on a book as a passion project for years. I've shared it with close friends/family and all anyone says for crit is "it's really good keep working on it". I have a hard time believing that I wrote a perfect book first shot so I've been really shy about sharing it, but also I can't claw any criticism from anybody so I guess I have to start posting it places. It's post-apoc sci-fi character driven horror. I love to worldbuild and plot weave (feels like piecing clockwork together or painting a miniature to me) so I'm pretty proud of where it has gone so far! I put a teaser together since I'm still too shy to post the entire thing but I don't have any reach/community so I still haven't gotten any goddamn feedback on the thing Eudaimonia ch1+2.pdf via googledrive I am extremely interested in working with another creator as a partner! My mental health is going sour but I still love to worldbuild/write and imagine things so if anyone has any project at all that could use a writer I'm super available, I'll work for free I don't give a poo poo Evilreaver fucked around with this message at 14:32 on Nov 17, 2025 |
