A thread about turning a hobby into something that can generate some income.

I recently became a member of our local Makerspace that has a great pottery studio. I took a ton of pottery and ceramics classes in college but haven't kept up due to lack of resources, but now that I'm back on the wheel again I'm producing some pretty decent stuff. Pottery is something I love doing, and it would be nice to make a little money from selling my things to at least cover the cost of the hobby, and maybe make a little extra money. I've been looking around at various options but it's a little overwhelming, especially since lots of people make their living this way, and for me it's just a hobby.

Do you sell your stuff? What has been your most successful method (online, word of mouth, studio rental, commission, etc)?

If you have rented space in a store, what was the payment agreement? Did you pay a set rate each month for shelf space, or did the store take commission, or both? Our Makerspace partners with a local craft store but they take 35% commission, which seems really high.

Have you participated in Farmers Markets? What was your experience like?

Any tips on how to make money from a hobby?

If two grown men can't make a pervert happy for a few minutes in order to watch a film about zombies, then maybe we should all just move to Iran!

I sold cedar garden boxes on Craigslist.

Don't sell poo poo on Craigslist.

I have no other advice.

She was rubbing her ass all over my hands. They don't just do that for everyone.
