Legit add another assist for all characters plus other assists of non player characters. I want old Kai that gives you a huge power up if you can prevent him getting hit for 12 hours or w/e

It's not a good game but the Arcsys' 3DS DBZ game was fun because it used a ratio system that had a ton of one-off assist characters, so you could add all the goofy minor characters your team and have them do the one thing you'd want them to do.

fighting is fun idk theres a ton of other modes if you want to fight less in a fighting game

the problem is all the clone fights that serve solely to pad out the length of the story modes. they're largely not interesting to fight, they're just there to give you something to grind against and keep you from blasting through the story quickly

especially in the super warriors arc, where their AI is set so low that they're just moving punching bags for newbies to build bad habits on, and half the fights are literally just randomly chosen tutorial battles

and also in the Android 21 arc where you go through several chapters in a row with a fixed roster, some of your party members' moves disabled or essentially unusable, and essentially nothing happening storywise. so you're essentially just having the same fight over and over again for what seems like ages

Also the leveling system feels like a weird half baked idea. Even if you only use a single team the entire time you never really meaningfully outpace enemies without going out of your way to use exp skills or replay chapters. All it does is effectively prevent you from switching up your team unless you really want to deal with low level characters and their awful health pools.

And if you do use the exp skills fights ironically get more difficult because that means you're not stacking as much damage as possible to end things faster

Jiren is fuckin garbage and I'd rather have GT stuff than him. Toppo cool though. I'd also rather have GT than Jaco or Great Saiyaman or some of the other poo poo people want.

He's better but he still ain't great.

Gotenks is now the best character in the game undoubtedly as system level changes favour him, with bardock lvl 3 oki going down.
