A Song of Blood and Fire They said all the dragons had perished due to the Dance of Dragons and it’s aftermath, evidently they were wrong. Daeron Targaryen, the Young Dragon, has done something Aegon and his sister wives could not do with dragons. He has conquered Dorne. Sunspear has fallen, House Martell and all of the other major houses of Dorne have bent the knee, and the Seven Kingdoms have finally been united under one king and one rule over them. A shame that your house was on the losing side of this war. House Tamas, lords among the Stoneway aka the Boneway, are descendants of the spear wife Rudaba Tamas of the warrior queen Nymeria, having sailed with her from Rhynor after the Valrians won the Second Spice War. They’ve held their lands for millennia, being bequeathed them as a reward for victories among the Red Mountains and personally vanquishing the entire line of lords who held it before them. For generations they stood as equals to the Yronwoods and Fowlers, among the most important of the lords who defended the peoples and lands of Dorne from their northern neighbors. That is until your family were some of the worst hit of the Dornish noble houses during Daeron’s conquest of Dorne. The heads of the house done in by the blade, most of your army crushed, and much of your estate and lands divided among the Targaryen’s favorite supporters. With your main castle and much of your lands stripped from you, your house is now centered on Castle Tabar, slap down in the middle of the Boneway. Formerly a secondary base designed to further disrupt and stall invaders until they reached Castle Yronwood or other vital routes to the Dornish mainland and defend your house’s iron mines and interests, it is now were you are charged to help track down and defeat remaining Dornish lords and hosts who have refused to bend the knee and are to meet a large iron quota if you are to keep what you have been left with and remain in House Tagaryen’s good graces. Still you can’t help but notice much if not most of grumbling and whispering of your fellow Dornish lords hasn’t subsided whatsoever, and that it has in fact often turned to actual plotting. How many of the subservient pets of the Young Dragon, are actually funneling gold and weapons to these dissident lords? How many Dornishmen have wished the king well, while smuggling their bastard children and men to pirates and mercenaries working on the Stepstones? The question is simple really, where do your loyalties truly lie. With your liege lords with whom you’ve broken bled, shed blood, and even share blood with; House Martell, with the concept and culture of Dorne itself, with the fortunes and future of your House, or with the safety of your people and of that of Dorne? Even a thousand different answers still actually lay within such a choice, depending on how you view best to serve that goal and understand that idea to be. You are not alone in asking that question either, it is on the minds of those who live in the occupied state of Dorne. This war has been lost, but there’s always another around the corner. A Few Side Notes on Setting and Character Creation: Dornish Custom is trickier and different the standard houses of Dorne. Many discriminated groups, such as women and bastards have greater personal freedom than those to the north of them, if they’re noble that is. The noble daughters and women of Dorne have equal rights on inheritance and governance as the men, this is even reflected in the rules. What isn’t reflected in the rules is that Dorne has a flaunted and revered tradition of warrior women. While women of noble blood mostly side with and fully honor their traditional Rhynor roots, it’s far from unheard of some Dornish Ladies wish to honor Andal customs of the warrior and serve and take roles knights. Female characters can be knighted and even buy the anointed trait, even the northern invaders will (often literally) hold their noses and acknowledge and recognize Dornish women knights. Bastards are normally on the bottom of the inheritance order in a family, unless otherwise stated in a will or by decree of the Dornish lady or lord in question, but at least they’re in the inheritance at all. Likewise there is little social stigma in being a natural born child, and are allowed to practice any trade or belief without organized and systemic prejudice. This attitude is not shared by the Seven Kingdoms invaders however. The -1d penalty does not apply to your Dornishmen Character and House Creation To save time and to create an actual conflict that was interesting, I pre made a house. It’s mostly by the actual rules in the book, but why let (even great) rules stand in the way of fun. Each player will still allocate and spend “leftover” points on category, after Character Creation they will explain how their character saved this resource they choose or the history of it if they spent it. Character Creation is mostly normal outside of what’s stated the Side Notes and that whoever is the first born child gets Head of the House instead of Heir. Also if you don’t have the book, I can make your character for you, just give me the jist of what you want. Likewise you can use Chronicle of Sorcery in Character Creation and I will be using Out of Strife, Prosperity for expanded House rules and will list you options and what they do from it if you don’t have it. Here's a Discord for questions, rolls if we go that route, and character creation NutritiousSnack fucked around with this message at 23:48 on Aug 29, 2017 |

frankenfreak posted:I've been doing some thinking and came up with the following: This is extremely good, especially in lieu of these facts 1.) A lot of the focus on this game will be your new liege lord Gawin Wyldflower and his vassals who stole your and other houses lands, and a lot of them aren't loyal to anyone but themselves. 2.) More plot hooks with that Uncle...maybe I'll be going a third way with that? 3.) Balanced team yea Perfect, I misread it. Great Story hooks to work with.
