You want in on the tournament we are doing? It's all virtual and only one game a week so low pressure. Just make a 300 point team and you can have the first round bye. We might be able to get you into this round to observe as well so you can see roll 20.

Just let me know

I'd love to join in haha, sorry for the late response, I've had a busy few days. I still have very little idea how to play, but I did see that the JLU starter comes out to 300 points!

Good news, we have no idea how to play either! And neither does WizKids!

Jokes about the really bad new rules aside, we'll be happy to teach you. It's not terribly hard to learn the basics and get to the point where you know how to play the game and just start getting your rear end kicked because you're new. Hell, I know for a fact that me, morand, and torrent have all done volunteer time at WizKids booths in conventions in the Before Times, you wouldn't be the first newbie we walked through a starter game.

Has anyone else done that, actually? Those were fun; the best was the one time WizKids showed up to a Yu-Gi-Oh convention to try and sell the YGO Wave 1 set and all weekend we had players cheerfully admitting that their playerbase was the lowest of the low. So many binders of cards got stolen.

Everyone's Playing!

So, some "Every Dial Playable" house rules were suggested on the Realms. It involves a lot of math but is supposed to keep old dials competitive.

POINT COST REDUCTIONS:

All pieces that do not have an Oreo-Style base.
Base Point Cost x 0.65, rounded up to the nearest 5.

All pieces that have an Oreo-Style base, but do not have a dial printed on their character card.
Base Point cost x 0.75, rounded up to the nearest 5.

STAT MODIFICATIONS, USING BASE POINT COST:
Used for all pieces without a dial printed on their character card, or a character card at all.

9 attack minimum for all pieces with at least 2 clicks of health.
16 defense minimum for all pieces with at least 2 clicks of health.

50+ points
Printed 9 attack become 10 attack
Printed 16 defense become 17 defense
2 damage minimum

100+ points
10 attack minimum
17 defense minimum
printed 2 damage becomes 3 damage

150+ points
Printed 10 attack becomes 11 attack
Printed 17 defense becomes 18 defense
3 damage minimum

200+ points
Printed 3 damage becomes 4 damage

Any thoughts?

Attack rolls made by me, all game: 0
Attack rolls missed by Maniac, all game: 0
Leadership rolls made by Ares, all game and keeping in mind he succeeds on a 4-6: 1

And rise the M.C. Etrigan!

Guy Gardner is a machine for killing Allied Soldiers with his special Quake. H.E.R.B.I.E. needed new batteries for the efficacy of his efforts to save them, which went 2 for 5. I must give Andy credit for the brilliant idea to use Colonel Klink as the German Soldier bystander. I also found that even gimped to a 6 Range, Silver Surfer will make your day bad. Uatu did precisely his job and just sat and watched. Score was 315-0, taking as read a final attack by Wonder Woman to K.O. last-click H.E.R.B.I.E. after Ares fell to Guy Gardner cranking Jackyl.

I do have to hand it to Andy's team idea. It generates Allied Soldiers and German Soldiers so he can get Mission Points for Ares while H.E.R.B.I.E. also amasses them. He might have won had H.E.R.B.I.E. saved more Allied Soldiers.

The Secret Six defeated the Heralds 300-0.

Uatu got hit very hard by Supergirl and then finished off by the rookie. Guy Gardner got oneshot by the Sky Tyrant because they shared a keyword. The Silver Surfer ended up stuck most of the game due to losing HSS. He could not hit Sky Tyrant in Hindering but could crit miss. He was then teamed up on by Supergirl, Comissioner, and Sky Tyrant until he fell. Wonder Woman went afterwards due to losing a fist fight to the deathbringer. Barry managed to Ko the rookie but fell shortly after.

Ok the Secret Six are too good. I'M SORRY.

I agree. They are OBSCENE. The big key was that because there were at least six of them on the field Silver Surfer's Power Cosmic was only half useful, so he didn't get to pull his "I'm going to HSS out and blast you" schtick. Had I been able to KO even one of them early on, that would have been a game-changer. Even then, them all having traited Outwit on top of "screw you, Protected and SAFEGUARD" is just plain overkill.

so me and my friend started playing again after not having played much since 2015ish. played a ton of 300 point games with the new rules and mostly marvel pieces from 2012-15 it plays really well imho.

the game is just much more fun when the game doesnt revolve around alpha strikes so much, beatsticks with damage reducers are very strong even with super strength "nerfs", stealth is still a pretty great power but it is so much easier to handle without including stealthbuster specialists because of knockback being everywhere and unavoidable. the breakaway rules + the lack of pushing damage makes for some very interesting games when you have a range focused team vs a team lacking ranged attackers. having a good amount of perplex simply wont let hawkeye punch someone for 5 damage in close combat anymore and i quite like it this way!!!

i probably used quake more times last week than in all of my clix career combined and i started playing in clobberin time (pulled red ring thing in my second booster ever!!!)

try playing cavalry charge wonder woman from dc75 if you think removing knockback damage from the game was a bad idea while having no power that stops knockback.

the cheaper giants like IIM dreadnoughts and cw giantman feel kinda op with the willpower on 3+. dreadnought is extra op for having empower now when thats the only way to turn your range piece into a brawler

pieces that have one click of running shot before turning into charge, super strength, energy shield, and cce are actually really good now instead of unplayable garbage!!!!??? i love 89 point bucky cap from captain america now, the dial is finally good after being poo poo for 10 years!!

The 2021 rulebook has disappeared from the Rules page; only the single universe WWE rulebook is available by default (with the other 2019 books still in the "past rules" links at the bottom). Maybe it's a glitch, who knows. Make of it what you will.

CapnAndy and I just finished our game. His team is really formidable on paper, but it's just too easy to ignore all of the Soldiers and go straight for the Mission Point figures. If battlefield conditions were still a thing, Crosswinds would make that team amazing. As it is, the Amazons just flew over the front lines and smashed HERBIE, and then everybody piled on Ares. Ultimately, the god of war was KO'd by the German Soldier that he allowed the Amazons to generate. At that point, Andy conceded, as he didn't really have anybody left who could deal with Invulnerability.

So, that's 0 for him and either 155 or 295 for me, depending on how we're scoring a concession.

Wonder Woman is a solid vampire who's extremely hard to kill with two STOP clicks that heal her for one at the start of your turn, and the sword grants b/c/f (obviously), and if you have the WW TA, expands the crit range to 10-12.

Andy decided to forfeit against the Secret Six so instead we did a fun game of Latveria Versus Apocalypse (Done as deity).

Did you know that Puppet Master is the bane of horsemen teams? Because he apparently is. First getting off a huge MC on King Shazam to knock CAAV Thor to his stop click. Another of Andy's horsemen was 059 Wonder Woman who has super awesome senses. But Puppet Master has a 1 damage and precision strike so he decided to punch wonder woman and she FELT IT. Which was then enough for an enhanced doombot to KO her. Apocalypse really didn't like being perplexed down alot by Morgan La Fay and got knocked way down. King Shazam got hit to Billy while he had 2 tokens, could not attack and then was KO'd.

Maniac and I had our game tonight, and it was a tight one! Silver Surfer fell pretty much immediately, but the heralds really didn't need him, as Guy Gardener with Uatu was quite enough of a threat. Guy and Grail spent the entire game trading blows, with her making some clutch Impervious rolls once he was off his Exploit, and with him standing strong with that 18 Combat Reflexes. Violet Wonder Woman and the Flash teamed up to take out Queen Hippolyta and a Bana in an excellent display of teamwork. Title character Wonder Woman finally got to 5 plot points for the first time this tournament, but it was on the last action, so she didn't get to go to her divine click.

We ended up with 120 points for the Amazons, and 80 points for the Heralds.

ManiacClown

Gone, gone, O honky man,

Yeah, that game was a nail-biter. It all came down to lucky rolls, either on my part or Torrent's. Guy missing a Quakexploit on Wonder Woman and Grail was the nail in my coffin, I think. Had he hit that, I'd likely have been able to press the advantage and win. At least this game I realized the Lanterns (except Flash) can carry their Constructs, so that helped (kind of) with Guy and the Chainsaw.

As for the new build: Well, poo poo. I don't see a flat-out communist team I can get to realistically work at 400 points unless MAYBE I build an Equipment-oriented Red Son team of just Wonder Woman and blue-line Superman with 25-point Brainiac, but that would probably be terrible. I guess I'll deal with Russian/Soviet characters, then, though I may change my mind.

Probably a good idea for one of us to assist you with initial team setup and give you a Roll20 tutorial.

Also you need to make an account on Roll20 if you haven’t yet so we can get you into our game and make you a GM.

Note that if Wonder Woman is starting with the sword equipped, you don't actually have to pay points for it. Due to her trait, at the start of each game she just gets to say 'this is the equipment I have this time'. Paying points for the sword means that you'll be placing it on the map so that someone else can pick it up.
