Went to the game last night with my wife who is an ND alum Trip report: it was a shitload of fun and the drunk Badgers fans singing along to every song were hilarious. Also saw an outrageous number of Fighting Sioux jerseys.

UMD has been a legitimate hockey organization since Sandelin got hired. He's gone to the tourney 8 times, Frozen Four 4 times, 3 Finals, and 2 Championships. He's got an absurd playoffs coaching record. That's a pretty goddamn good 18 years. He's been building a reputation and the University has been investing in the program, and it's made his recruiting incredibly strong among Minnesota prospects from the metro and from the northland. Obviously they had a combination of incredible luck, management, and coaching to overcome all the roster churn, while bringing in the right guys to keep competing.
