Whatever they're doing, it works, because during gameplay i have not once ever lost track of Samus in peripheral vision, and my eyesight isn't really the best. And i can't even use 3D as a crutch because i can't see 3D.

No, but it was trivial to freeze the flame throwers shut with a quick shot of the ice beam, without even stopping.

I'm p. sure i used the punch to easily clear out the swarm enemies in this game, and you can't parry those
