Here we go again.
Just caught up and I want to say I'm loving this CYOA. I spent two years playing a Shadowrun campaign that, in between more traditional runs, explored some of the social issues involved with the Night of Rage and the Ork Underground (my Troll sammie was a part-time teacher and beat poet), so this is bringing back warm memories of a very enjoyable campaign.

I really like Fuzzy but I feel like we need to change characters and explore more points of view and more stories. I'm inclined towards Julia but I think Kenji has more support, so I'll vote strategically on that. I like the plan someone mentioned, to explore all three characters and vote on which one to come back to in part 4.

Thanks for such a great CYOA so far.

They're well-off corp kids, not gangers, slum kids, shadowrunners, and other social trash. Hearing them use that kind of language is like hearing some upper middle class suburbanite kid use slang he heard in a hip-hop video on YouTube. It makes sense that we wouldn't hear that anywhere on Blake Island.

Now, if we were going to the inner city Pigfarts School for Delinquent Wizards, that would be another story entirely.

Hey now, Vincent Clortho High is doing the best they can with the funds available to them.

Aw gently caress, that's a hell of a choice.

On the whole, Big Rita sounds like good people.

Well, in point of fact, no she really doesn't - she can't be, in the position she's in. But she sounds like she wants to be, if she can get out of the circumstances that she's in that make her have to be a bad person.

I suspect that having Big Rita around will make a few things we'd like for Julie much more difficult: dealing with her criminal SIN, her racism, her self-worth etc. Big Rita is a Spike shot-caller - Ice Phisherman is kinda underselling what kind of godawful poo poo a person like that has done.

I'm not saying it's not worth doing, but let's be aware of what exactly Julie's shouldering here.

It'll be a bit. I'll need to upgrade my internet at some point. It's not exactly stable or reliable at the moment. I was thinking of doing mini-campaigns and tightly editing them so it's fun to listen to rather than hearing a bunch of dice rolling and table chatter. So run Shadowrun for a few months, some call of C'thulu, Dresden Files, Red Markets, that sort of stuff.

Ooh, if you're taking down names I'd like to get mine on the list early. Sounds awesome. If it's too early yet to worry about it then no big deal.

Well, we can't go to Sasha until Leblanc is gone. Once Leblanc leaves, even temporary, the directive is defunct. (and Kenji will, probably for the first time in his existence, be unbound)

Or, until the talk is interrupted and can't continue, which would also make the directive defunct.

Yeahhhhh attempting (and possibly failing) to murder some Tir nobility just because they're dicks really doesn't seem like the best course of action to say the least. Putting them under a guillotine along with all their friends while overthrowing the Tir government would own, but I somehow doubt that this game's heading that direction.

Maybe file that under "long-term goals".

Okay, actual brain surgery is a step beyond hollowing out someone's personality through mental and physical abuse, but they're both pretty vile. Cyberpunk brain surgery doesn't actually feel as real to me until I start comparing it to, say, a lobotomy a la One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

I do appreciate the darkly poetic symmetry.

Rosemary Kennedy might be the more apt comparison. You know Joe Sr. would have installed an obedience chip without hesitation if he could have.

If I remember right FuckFace would have to be actively trying to see into the future, like with Tarot Cards, rather than a flash of premonition like a Jedi. But it's simple to solve the Min Yun problem. Just have Chio warn her when she enters. He's faster and as a shaman she should know right away he's a spirit.

Chip is a known and respected factor in the Underground. Let's have him zip up and escort her in, that way nobody feels the need to sound the whisper alarm.

Remember that it's possible that if LeBlanc gets arrested and IDed, her Method could be extracted from her and that would be very bad.

Please note that Dragonslayer is not a totem for anyone who expects to die of natural causes. Dragonslayer will continually push the group to go up against forces that are way out of their league, and if he has his way sooner rather than later they'll die in glorious battle of one kind or another.

Ice Phisherman, have you read Dr. Robert Altemeyer's book "The Authoritarians"? It's not directly about fascism by name, but about the authoritarian mindset that leads people to it. It predates the alt-right but I think provides some still extremely relevant analysis backed by a whole career of research in the topic.

Made available freely by the author at his website here: https://www.theauthoritarians.org/

Agreed. Although it resonates with me because some of the high school students I teach are hit pretty hard by testosterone poisoning. US culture is pretty desperate to figure out what masculinity means in this day and age, and where it might go one way in most of the former US, the CAS Southerners I can absolutely believe took it back to old school honor culture.

Make him whatever the Shadowrun equivalent of having a Luck 10 + Jinxed character in the old fallouts is.

I don't know about the ruleset Ice is using, but in the 4th Edition rules "Mr. Lucky" with 7-8 Edge to make up for mediocre skills is a pretty viable (and totally hilarious) build.
