Ended up spending almost two hours messing around with the photo settings and effects in Scapes yesterday. Turns out the NSX is a fantastic car for vaguely futuristic and cyberpunk-esque night time shots. I may have gone slightly overboard with the chromatic aberration slider though.

I haven't gotten a chance to drive the NSX yet, how is it? I hope they add classic cars later on, the first-gen NSX would be sick in this game.

I was poking around in the wheel settings and saw buttons for “MFD” and an MFD increment/decrement on the Logitech G29. I have a driving force pro masquerading as a G29 through GIMX but I have the buttons and can use them. I didn’t see any discernible thing they did though What is MFD exactly?

It’s the piece in the bottom center of the screen with various handy functions. Left and right switch screens, up and down change values within the screen. An example of how it’s used is changing the brake balance, TCS level or AWD torque distribution on the fly. Also good for alleviating boredom on the straightaways of some of the Tokyo highway maps.

This game makes me furious. Between it, Forza 7, and Project Cars 2: Forza 7 has, BY FAR, the best car library and track selection but the online experience is absolute cancer Project Cars 2 has, BY FAR, the best customisation and force feedback, but the driving model is skittish and it lacks polish overall Gran Turismo Sport has, BY FAR, the best online experience, but the track and car selection is atrocious I don't understand how three separate games can be such wild contrasts of each other in the worst ways. Also yeah, I don't understand how you're meant to improve your standing in races. Feels like the qualifying laps are the most important since all you have to do is stay consistent throughout and you're good.

Qualifying is important in a motor race you say? I really want to get this but have to wait until I can afford a PS4 Pro. I think this will be a solid platform and evolve over time. There's no way they're just gonna leave it as is, I think they want to have something they add content to drip drip like

There aren't enough laps in most races to make up the deficit and the more intangible elements like pit stops, wear & tear, mechanical failures etc prevent those placings from shifting dramatically

Goofy server problems tonight. I was racing online, and within the first lap, all other players cars just lined up on the side of the track and stopped. I continued the race, now in first place. I wasnt gonna give up an easy win. Then, seconds before I crossed the finish line all the cars snap back into place and I'm in 10th. No clue what happened, at least it didnt ding me for hitting cars I couldnt see.

I haven't kept up with consoles lately The only difference between disc and digital is that discs can be resold, need to be in the drive to play, and you can do the install from there instead of downloading the entire game. And yeah, pretty sure Gamestop or whatever will still take in used stuff, if not there's always eBay.

What kind of car? There are a lot of ways to go about doing it, but try adding some front camber, stiffening the rear sway bar, or removing some rear toe in, etc.

You don't really have to win the daily races to improve your rating, just go fast and clean and you'll bump up regardless of where you place. I'm consistently 2nd and 3rd and occasionally around 5th-8th, and I've only won once, but I worked from a D/E to B/B in one night just driving clean. I also started blocking anyone on PSN that I kept getting matched with that would t-bone the leader in turn 1 and things got a LOT better. I recommend it if you're getting the same couple of turds ruining every race. TremorX fucked around with this message at 03:20 on Oct 25, 2017 |

Are they switching the races around during the maintenance window? Of course I forgot about that and was qualifying for a race, and when the timer finally counted down and it was race time the game went just kidding, we're going down for maintenance. UGH

Could be the coast (Might be called 'initial' on GT, can't remember) settings on the LSD (differential settings) that are preventing the car from turning. If they're set too high, it causes the differentials to lock, which means that inside and outside wheels will roll at the same rate. This means that the car won't turn without enough force to make the outside wheel skip. I would get rid of all those other adjustments too while I'm at it. The car must be undrivable. The way I learned it, and if I'm wrong feel free to correct me, is that you adjust the car for where in the corner you're struggling. The further forward on the car, the earlier into the corner, so you'd start with front nose downforce, then front toe out as you enter the corner, then camber as you shift weight, then adjust the rear sway bar and loosen or tighten the rear lsd as you go through and exit. If you're lugging the engine or overaccelerating through certain areas consistently, then adjust the specific gears that you're in to add or remove torque. Make small adjustments one at a time and try 5-6 laps with it and see how it feels.

It is good advice, but don't forget that LSD packs have three actual settings, which are the different stages of the turn: Accel, Coast and Decel. Decel would be turn in under braking, Coast is mid corner, Accel is on the way out. If the car is turning in fine on entry, I'd be wary of messing with front downforce or geometry. Seems like they're not getting enough turn at the apex, which *might* be camber or suspension load. It's hard to know without seeing telemetry.
