I usually sneak up on Henryk and visceral attack him once. Then I poison him with poison knives and just let Eileen fight him. With him poisoned, she has so far never failed to win.

Anyway, for Eileen to show up, start opening gates in cathedral ward. I do not know which exact gates have to be open, but her showing up in cathedral ward is tied to the gates.

The hardest enemy in this game is no boss, it's the red eyed saif hunter halfway between Laurence and Ludwig.

It's fine.
Don't worry about it.

Her quest line is pretty finicky, even for a From quest. For example, she is supposed to show up outside the Oedon Chapel at some point after you’ve beaten Gacoigne but I’ve never seen her there.

She moves to the outside of Oedon Chapel after you open all the big gates in the Cathedral Ward, the same thing that triggers Henryk to spawn in the graveyard. She moves to the courtyard the bag man spawns in, but on the opposite side of the door. She's just annoyingly hard to spot in her black outfit because she hangs out to the side, looking over the fence. You look over there once when you're going around the area the first time and never think to glance back there again.

Ahh the makes sense. She stayed in Central Yarhnam for me for a long time because I beat BSB, which opened the side door in Oedon Chapel, which I used to open the big gate shortcut that goes from Oedon chapel to right in front of the Grand Cathedral. I didn’t open up the remaining gates until I had done Hemwick and the Hypogean Gaol/Paarl. So it just seemed kind of random when Henryk started spawning.

The hardest for me so far at this point in the game is these three hunters in Yaharrr'gul. I did the prison cheese strat to get one of them, the guy with the fist weapon, but the other two are just absolutely absurd together. I think either one paired with the fist dude would've been fine, but these last two together are just nonsense. I'm sure this is a topic that has been done to death though.

Looking up how people dealt with it, I've seen a lot of people be like "just run past them!" but I did that and they literally do not stop chasing you.

I definitely just ran back to the lantern in the chapel and only one will follow you in then you can Cheese another through the wall near the lantern then fight the last one like normal

I do the prison cheese often but with a SKL build I managed to sneak up behind the guy at the stairs, charge attack, visceral and then burn him before the other two come for me (then proceed to run around like a chicken).

My solution to the three hunters was to lead them on a merry chase around the nearby staircases, which causes them to bunch up, then I spun around and Tiny Tonitrus'd them all to hell.

I ended up doing this one, though the whip one managed to wiggle their way into the lamp room so I had to legitimately fight that one :v:

Farewell, good Hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.

Once one of those three hunters is dead, they stay dead. Or at least they did in my game. Which meant I did what was suggested above, sneak up behind the one on the stairs and charge—>visceral—> burn and spam attack. That leaves two, even if you die. I think that one on the stairs is the hardest attacking of the three. Although, the one that stands in the middle of the room can really hurt you if you’re not being safe.

Uhm. What is Alfred’s quest? Do I need to go back to meet him in the cathedral by that alter again? I’m all the way to Mergo’s wet nurse in the main story and just wrapping up the final exploration of research hall before trying the boss I presume is behind the big doors.

Who’s the hunter guy talking to me in the dlc? He just told me to go kill maria.

"Welcome to pound town, Slifer slacker!"

Alfred’s Quest can be done at any time so long as you have access to Castle Cainhurst. The Hunter Guy in the DLC is Simon is a Hunter of Secrets who is investigating the Hunter’s Nightmare same as you, he got stuck unable to kill Ludwig so now that you’ve done so he’s providing expository guidance of your next target so he can venture deeper alongside you.

Simon is perhaps close to a real life secret police, he dresses as a beggar to hide amongst Yharnamites and listen to them for the Church as far as I understand his old life. He made it into the Hunter’s Nightmare the same way you did as far as I can work out.

Oh, I found the invitation in iosefka’s clinic for the Cainhurst castle. When should I go? I just go to Hemwick charnel lane lamp or something for the carriage it mentions? I almost didn’t go to the clinic at all because when I first came upon the cave in the forbidden woods I was really low level and bounced out, never went back. I’ve been wrapping up things and tying off loose ends like the crow quest and Djura (I kinda feel bad about killing him but I wanted his armor). So I went through the cave and found her clinic. She was on a table complaining about her belly and I got another umbilical piece from her so I assume she was pregnant with an old one’s baby? The prostitute I rescued had the same thing happen. THAT was some hosed up poo poo!

Btw I’m a god of thunder now ama:

Go to the roadway right before the Witch’s house and look for a big stone marker. If you can do the DLC you can definitely do Cainhurst.

FYI once you beat paarl and go into old yharnam via the back entrance you can go on over to djura's tower and he'll be non-hostile. If you play nice he'll give you all the stuff you would have gotten by killing him.

I just got the Tonitrus. How good is this thing? It's super cool so I'll probably swing around with it for a little bit.

A thing I noticed when watching lets plays of this game, is a lot of comments would get mad at certain lets players who basically stuck with the saw or axe the entire game, and didn't really bother with the other weapons. But I gotta be real, so far the saw cleaver has been just so reliable and good, I really only bring out the Kirkhammer or whatever when I just feel like loving around with regular mobs. I've only used the saw cleaver for bosses so far. I've used the starting weapon more than anything.

If you get kidnapped by a bag man, go to Yahargul early, and open the side doors of the church, then (on your post-Rom visit) you can sneak around the front and backstab the dude near the pillar.

for the three hunters in yahar'gul i just start from where the lamp used to be when it was hypogean gaol, walk down the steps on the left until i hit the next floor, drink a blue elixir and then hit the guy on the stairs with a backstab, visceral and a shaman bone blade so he can do most of the work himself.
