I think he decided at some point that they will level up when specific characters play sessions, but then also realized that means sometimes you'll end up with a totally mismatched party level wise so who knows

I kind of get the feeling that Dave (spoilers for the final 3 episode arc, including tonight's) is still not quite satisfied with the format on account of how he's killing off all the characters in a grand battle royale to clear the slate, but i'm still entertained tbh. Also in a rare instance of justice in the universe, Hing's character was the first to die Technically isn't he falling into an infinite void and not dead yet? But overall I agree even though I think he's said it's not canon, though maybe it's not until they decide it is?
