I've come to accept this with both Arrow and Flash; the default state of the show is Bad and anything above that is both accidental and temporary.

Given how it's clear the show has no idea what to do with their (or, really, anyone's) characters, I can't blame any of those people feeling compelled to take a walk. Although, given that it's a regular (fairly large) paycheck in an industry where regular employment is the exception and not the rule, I can't blame any of them if they decide to stay, either.
