I did miss out on most of the Nintendo strong years (I went from a NES to a WiiU) so I do not have the same reverie and completely forgot about a lot of their output. Nintendo's not actually bad, I'm just not their target audience so I guess my own confirmation bias was at fault. If you are into platformers, party games and what not you probably can't find better than Mario/Zelda/Splatoon etc.
