Post-game question are the buyable moons truly infinite or do they cap out eventually?

Is the one moon per world that neither talkatoo nor the toad will give hints for something that will be unlocked later, or is it just "go find it without hints"

Showing up that golden koops by doing all sorts of impossible jumps while he's following the main path like a chump is the best

I never did find a way to completely own him in snow kingdom though. I beat him by a bit to the last wind-blowing guy but then we were stuck in the same cycle and and I just had to narrowly win the sprint to the end.

Being able to macro ZL+Y into ZR would be great too yeah. There's so many unused buttons in this control scheme and they still decided to use the worst "button" of all, shaking

My hot take is that the game has great movement but terrible controls

You can hat throw out of a lava bounce, I think, which can save a run. After that you have 3 more sections of varying lengths iirc.

I've been trying this thing for over a week and I still haven't gotten past 60. Mario just always lands on the rope or springs to high, or I just wind up getting way to focused and beef it.

Is your TV in game mode? Input lag would make that minigame hellish if you have any. A quick way to test is that cursor movement in menus should be functionally instant from when you move the stick. Any noticeable delay is a sign of input lag.

Most modern TVs have a mode for video games with very little input lag, and playing undocked will also do this.

Or if that's not the issue, what worked for me is, starting at 40 or so, pretend it's a rhythm game where you press jump when they yell "hey" or whatever it is.

I did a flawless of it twice I think. The trick is to go slow, take it easy, and never ever hat the energy thing. Send your hat down the edges of the platform to kill the enemies do slight errors don't hit it.

Volley sucked rear end. I stopped at some point and came back later to beat it.
I tried getting back to the middle of the field after hitting a ball each time so theoretically you should always be in range of where it comes.

postgame opens up a harder version of that race plus a second track with two difficulties

I don't know how you're supposed to figure out the "found with wooded kingdom art" moon on your own. Like, the picture shows a koopa troopa, four up arrows, and then two bushes side by side. There's groups of bushes all around that turtle, so naturally one of those should be right, right?

These bushes are almost completely at the opposite end of the map of the turtle. They aren't anywhere NEAR the drat turtle!

The compass indicator was enough for me to figure it out on my own
