Mr. Nice! posted:Mentioned in the last post, but imgur changed their TOS and have started purging older images not attached to an account and any images that violate the new policy, such as porno/adult content. The tech team and a group of goon volunteers worked their asses off to get a full download of every image on the forums (including archives) downloaded and rehosted on somethingawful’s servers. Astral is in the process of writing code that will replace all the old links with the now locally hosted images. New images posted after the initial searches will still try to be grabbed at some point in the future, but I don’t know when. Thanks. Miss the ability to quick post screen shots and images as mentioned

New beta is out  If your page selector is crashing and you're in the beta program (see the op if you're not but would like to be) AND you don't want to update to iOS 16 for whatever reason - install the latest build from TestFlight. The post actions menu items have been reordered in that build as well

I asked a while back if anyone would be interested in helping overhaul this app to SwiftUI and everyone said no lol But you've basically described my long term goals for the current app. I've watched many many hours of point-free and love their stuff. The only TCA stuff I'm not super keen on is the massive modularisation of every little thing. Looks annoying to set up. But new screens I've added so far have been in SwiftUI (BookmarkColorPicker is one) and uses the observable object model approach I saw from point-free. One of the next big list items for myself is to increase the minimum target to 14 and update the app entry point to SwiftUI, get rid of appdelegate, storyboards, nibs, etc. Also to replace the kvo stuff with combine stuff. Will be really nice to have settings and theme changes immediately and automatically reflected in views without having to set things in multiple themeDidChange functions

It seems that when I load a thread with blank space after the last post, the frog gets very separated from the last post. This was especially bad. 13 pro max, 16.5.1

I have an issue with Awful app 6.2 on iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 16.5.1 Sometimes when I get to the bottom of a thread I just sit there, moving the screen up a little bit and not triggering a refresh but still triggering the animation. And I just watch the frog. I feel bad for posting about this because I’m sure a bunch of work goes in to the app and I never post about that, but I love the frog. Thanks for the free app that I spend hours using and never really think about because it always works.

I think the app is very close to reaching maximum frog. There are still some bells and whistles missing from the beta though - I made a  for new posts which still needs to be added to the main.

Set Color isn’t working permanently on bookmarks on my Awful. It looks like it works but on refresh it reverts back. Also, minor tweaks but Set color should have a capital C, and Mark as last read should have caps too. Along similar lines, it might make more sense to rename: Mark as Last Read —> Seen Mark Unread —> Unseen Makes more sense to me and uses a lot fewer characters.

I would actually suggest going the other way and replace any instances of title case with sentence case. So like “Automatic Dark Mode” should be “Automatic dark mode”. Title case should be saved for, well, actual proper nouns.
