If we still use "phones" when we're old and not neural jack cybernetic implant or like idk maybe burning trash in the wasteland it would be cool if they could fold up like hankies or whatever. Would be cool. Hard to imagine what it'll be like in 30-40 years.

I was way more impressed by the Nintendo DS's 96px screen gap when games took advantage of it (pretending there's poo poo happening in that space) than I would be if it was a single folding screen

Sniep posted:why does everyone want to fold a screen i mean, there is the same sort of argument as the notch; even if it isn't additional screen space without compromise it is still additional screen space. i sort of think that just folding with a tiny bezel (and thus a solid hinge and nothing bending) is the better bet tech-wise for the foreseeable future though, because no way they'll get the fold to look perfect for a long time yet.
