Live theatre hardware/software is the definition of having to be "Rock solid, heart touching" so I got no idea why it's not like mandatory to be able to run on some LTS distro. Crazy to have to run it on a consumer OS.

I've used Chromecast in the past but I'm not clever enough to reliably automate it, and it gets a lot trickier if the content your displaying is dynamically generated or live composited. There are Enterprise Solutions which own but are $$$$. Even in my dumpy theatre I've crept up to 5 freaking "digital signage" tvs

i really wish there was some kinda program that let u just:

-> add chromecasts by IP
-> select files to send to the various chromecasts
-> set timers on when they start and stop playing
-> maybe something that lets u swap out the files like a library or something wihtout it breaking

sum1 smart could prob do this in 2 seconds with python or smth idk

i just have a person start them =(((((((((((((( failure

You know who's gonna be a great retailer? The company who's principal business is putting cables in holes or putting antennas on fake palm trees.

I bought a Droid 2 at the Verizon store one million years ago and was so stunned by what a sewer it was, and the used car dealership vibe, that I have never returned.
