If you have Haxchi it will still work in 5.5.2 Just don't uninstall the DS game it's housed in.

You can also install via SD card, it doesn't have to be over the network.

It's not hard at all to play games from different regions, but there other region related things that are more difficult. I had to do a bit more work to get the the kupo nuts in Pictlogica Final Fantasy, for example.

Retroarch stopped working on my SNES mini and I can't figure out why. It was after I updated the hakchi2 utility on Windows.
