I haven't even been able to queue for a casual match yet, the queue header pops up but then immediately goes away. Guess I'll just wait on a surf server until this all works lol

Even with settings minimized and resolution decreased my FPS drops to the 30s when stuff is happening on screen. I can run overwatch no problem, what the hell?

Sending enemies skidding away across the floor looks sweet. It's more natural instead of just always popping them up with no speed. I think some of the stuttering people are experiencing might be related to reestablishing connection to item server/game coordinator, since it's almost constantly dropping and reattempting.

So after that small patch, the temp Dragons Fury I got when activating the contract has now disappeared from my backpack  you can't buy them from the store, or on the market. I literally can't complete that contract now.

as a counterpoint even though I'm a dirty othergame-av-haver i had an awesome time in the games i played tonight and it's making me dread playing overwatch again. the action is much more up close and personal, and instead of getting mad when i die because it's a huge deal in OW i just think wow that was a sick airshot they did on me and im right back in the action in like 10 seconds. since its 12v12 theres so much less pressure. i had awful stuttering but i figured it was due to having a million old cfg files cluttering up my install that might not work as well anymore. deleted cfg, forced the game to reset them, and got a new cfg from cfg.tf. not only does the game look way better but it runs buttery smooth now. my weapon viewmodels were broken for YEARS without me realizing until today, i think the fov was way off or something. Being able to queue for matchmaking while doing other stuff really does own although it's a bit broken right now due to patch day. when it worked it worked fast. The game shows its age when you try to alt-tab and it won't let you, tf2 takes forever to load into servers and I'd much rather go read something online while waiting. I also had a lot of menu glitches but it's patch day and the devs are working on putting out the fires now, they just fixed an issue with the new mission thing and dx8 and a bunch of other small stuff earlier. best part of a new map in a big update is all the returning players, usually half or more of the team, wandering around spawn lost and confused/Conga-ing until they realize that they're on defense, preparation has run out, and they should all really have been on the first point thirty seconds ago Mercenary Park has a lot of dead ends and rooms that go nowhere relative to what I'm used to, chalking it up to that Overwatch influence creeping in

Also select a wide variety of maps you want to play. If you like badwater or some thing you should be in a game in seconds.

Team composition: 8 pyros, 1 engineer, 2 heavy, 1 medic. Playing with/against a team full of pyros is much more fun than with/against a team of all spy/sniper, so that's something. I just wish they'd remember to airblast their burning, non-asbestos-clad teammates once in a while.

Banana Bay is actually really fun. Captures everything enjoyable about Hightower but the point is also achievable. It even apes the ending of Cactus Valley... ball's in your court Valve  I can't believe I'm having fun with TF2. I hate that I'm having fun with TF2.

I can't see the new fire particles at all. I tried changing my graphics settings and that didn't help. Is it something to do with the Comanglia config?

I think they might need to tweak the damage the Flamethrowers do, they're a touch too strong now, especially in a Pyro vs Pyro scenario(also Pyro's afterburn resistance seems to be screwy right now, I've gotten set on fire as a Pyro several times tonight)

Also the flamethrowers definitely do a lot more damage now. I ran into a Pyro as Scout while turning a corner and killed him with a single meatshot, but in that tiny amount of time he got me down to half my health, where previously I might have lost what, 20 hp?
