  Simultaneously, Paquito sets up his arc of fire and Linchpin slings his MAT-49 to pull out a grenade.  Paquito fires! The shots go wide and he misses every round.   Linchpin sets up to throw right next to the closest target.  As he pitches forward, he sees a Soviet grenade coming towards him as well!  Luckily for him, the grenade falls short and wedges against the edge of the hill. Holding Ctrl allows you to pick up objects. It's a handy way to find live grenades, as they appear red because you can't pick them up for obvious reasons.  The enemy grenade explodes harmlessly against the hill.   It seems like a bad joke. The grenade lands right where Linchpin wants, but rolls forward and ends up between the trees. Not a single fragment hits a target.  The gang by the car sees one of the thugs to the north running forward to close the gap.  One of the northern thugs fires a burst. His bullet just barely grazes Paquito's shoulder, giving him the ballistic equivalent of a papercut.  Earp fires a burst from his Thompson, which misses.  Without an opening to charge, Linchpin readies another grenade.
