Just finished the second season, loved it. Come on here to read it’s been cancelled. D: But hey, Netflix sure does love picking things up and giving them another season. The show runner was Max Landis. D:

Halfway through S2. The fantasy world stuff is ripped right out of the mind of Terry Gilliam, in the best possible ways.

If netflix is making a sequel to Bright then they might be willing to grab this. And so far there is no smoking gun against Landis, just a bunch of hearsay.

I hadn't seen season one since it was put on Netflix a year or more ago and had only vague memories of more incidental bits, but recently had cause to scan through it and picked up a few interesting things that foreshadowed season two or else were paid off in fun ways in season two even if they weren't set up as such. The first major one I found was that the Martin, the leader of the Rowdy Three appears to be holding Mona Wilder as the stress toy throughout season one, and that it was presumably taken from him by Friedkin once he was caught. You can see him holding it in the first episode of season one when the Rowdy Three trash Todd's apartment and I intially noticed him holding it and squeezing it right before the end of the last episode of season one, when Blackwing takes them in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXWGNsVd1Y4 I also noticed that while Bart mentions that she always thought she was "a leaf in the stream of creation" to Moloch before saying that in reality she now thinks she's just a puppet on strings, she describes herself to Ken in the second episode as "a leaf in the stream of creation" too. It's a nice little bit way to cap that moment in her arc, though it's unlikely she'll ever get the chance to realize she's more as Moloch hoped. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7E30W6SfVc Finally, I realized that when Dirk is talking to Farrah about the detective agency he's hoping to open he mentions that he wants to put "Cases Solved with Arguable Efficiency" on the sign, just like in the finale. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_m9oHKPTpo I also made webs for the Bridge scene in season one and the Lux's big rant wondering who Dirk and Todd are. I just don't know how to post them here, or at least, what webm hosting sites are compatible with the forum embedding, so for the moment I'll leave them as (bigger) Youtube links. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufZ4G5FKLnA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rFZewbtLPc I really hope Netflix picks this up for a third season. I doubt they will, especially with Landis apparently being a Hollywood sleave (I haven't read up on it beyond the mentions here), but I live in hope. tsob fucked around with this message at 02:20 on Jan 26, 2018 |

"Sorry, I guess--I, like, can answer four of those questions totally, if I'm being honest." I love that rant. The setup for the big monologue where the head antagonist reveals this evil plans is there, and instead, we get a wild rant consisting of nothing but questions.

The best part is that Dirk is totally expecting that that's what'll happen and the antagonist will be the one with all the answers.
