I think that is because the characters bring the weirdness. So rather than weird things just happening, there are a bunch of developed characters that have weirdness happening to them as part of their character. Bart and Dirk are the two most obvious examples, of course. It's not weird it's just how things are.

This Dirk is basically a more empathetic Sheldon Cooper. Anyone else think that the whole magic fairyland is a kids fantasy come to life?

It really shouldn't, but it makes me kinda sad that this show is so ignored on the forums. It seems like the most perfect goon show around. Maybe times have changed but I'd think that 10 years ago everyone here would have been watching.

I think he is just glad to have some semblance of freedom and wants to help the idiot. Kinda reminds me of Wilson Wilson on Utopia. Different reasons of course.

All the small details in fairy land are great. Like the bodyguard having buttons in his beard in one scene and then jacks in the next. Or that they use a parakeet to send messages.

So the sleeping guy at Blackwing is dreaming all this poo poo. I'm wondering if they need to move him someplace less whatever Blackwing is in order for him to have a happier dream?

Dirks wife. I was surprised how they got the mage. That was rather sudden. I'm guessing Suzie won't get dead. She will just lose her wand/power and end up in jail.

Hopefully it does get picked up by Netflix. Then someone will actually see it. And not wait 10 years like they did with Arrested Development. With all the dreck that netflix puts out, this should be a slam dunk no brainer. Stranger Things isn't bad but it's total poo poo compared to Dirk. Ditto everything on Netflix. Or let Amazon take it. Thet got Top Gear after all.

Nasgate posted:Both seasons end with deus ex machina via a character briefly mentioned in the beginning so that Landis can pretend the story is cohesive. The set/costume design, source material, and the actors all carried both seasons. No. Landis produced Dirk and was at the helm and he directed some episodes. It is his show. Bright he wrote and handed off and that was it. He even mentioned earlier this year that the show had been completely changed and was no longer what he had written. How does it feel to be 100% wrong?

If netflix is making a sequel to Bright then they might be willing to grab this. And so far there is no smoking gun against Landis, just a bunch of hearsay.
