precision posted:It's frustrating that in this version of the story, Dirk is the least interesting, least likeable, and least useful person in the entire cast. The Mangan version was good, but honestly its take on Dirk struck me as almost as far off as this one. He was too manic, whereas the novel Dirk was closer to a laid-back, overweight Peter Venkman type; a layabout who understood the supernatural but used it to his own personal ends. This Dirk has grown on me more, simply by virtue of being completely different (though he was really off-putting in the first season). I feel like overall, this show is more in line with the tone and spirit of the books (and Adams in general).

This was a particularly good episode in an already great season. The Rowdy 3 coming out 3...2...1 was inspired. Sherlock and Tina continue to be great. Bart realizing she was once a kid...

Ken is coming along nicely as a future villain.

Incidentally, the music for Dirk Gently is done by the same guy that did Utopia.

How can anyone hate awful, awful Suzie Boreton? The Todd/Amanda scene on the bridge was great. Much like the bridge scene from season 1.

Honestly, the prospect of no more Bart really bums me out.
